I walked back to my office feeling like the biggest piece of s**t that has ever lived. I shouldn't have treated her like that. She may have been the one to f**k up and cheat on me, but I could have been the bigger person and treated her with some sort of respect. I really thought yelling at her and calling her that would make me feel better, but all it did was make me feel worse.
Rita brought the folder in that she had handed me a few minutes ago and just sat it on my desk and left without saying a word. I flipped it open and right on top was the check. I put it in my shredder and sent a text to my accountant to cancel the withdrawal. She was right, and I didn't want that to go through. The less I had to deal with her the better.
