Bloomers
“ Well thanks for watching Bloomers make sure to hit that love and follow button to see more videos from me.” Bloom did her signature salute before shutting off her camera and breathing a sigh of relief.
She glanced over at the clock and saw that it now read 7pm though she started filming at 2pm, she groaned a bit this had taken quite some time. She knew she had to edit the video and have it up by early tomorrow morning. Although half way when she was filming her stomach growled, Bloom was starving she need to eat right this second or she just die.
Bloom was a bit on the dramatic side.
She decided she eat first and edit later, she got up from her pink fluffy chair she bought it because she loves the color pink and the fluffy was just to soft to pass up. She headed downstairs, into the hallway and was just about to go straight for the kitchen when she heard her younger twin siblings arguing living room. Bloom let out a deep sign before walking over to them.
I guess eating can wait. She thought and with a roll of her eyes, she continued to walk passed the kitchen and into the living room.
Where KC and Mia were having a tug of war, with something that looked like a now beaten up brown box.
“Hand it over, I called dips.” Mia said as she tried to jerk the box out of KC hands,
“Dips only works if everyone has a fair chance.” He replied back to her trying to take they box away from her.
Bloom blinked at her siblings slowly, the hunger was setting in and she didn’t really care what they were fighting about, just from the few words they said it sounds stupid and not really worth her time, however she knew if she turned her back on them.
She would end up in the middle anyway. Bloom walked over to them with her 6’0 fame and snatched the brown box from both their hands.
“Hey!” They complained at the same time. The twins had a lot of similarities, for one their striking hazel eyes that Bloom couldn’t help but be envious of, they had received that from their mother well Bloom received dark brown eyes from their father side.
They had both also been graced with being of average height both being 5’5 well for now KC hadn’t had his growth spurt yet, so it was anyone’s guess if he’d grow or stay that size.
They’re skin also wasn’t as dark as Blooms, they were more of a Caramell tone. Well Bloom was about two shades darker. It didn’t help that a lot of people just assumed they weren’t related. The only thing the twins shared with Bloom other then parents was their hair type, they all had black kinky curls.
“Whatever happened to sharing is caring?” Bloom questioned the two, making sure to lifted the box over her head, so they wouldn’t be able to reach it. The twins eyes never left the box, they were acting like zombies. Bloom would move the box from the left and to the right while keeping it out of reach and the twins eyes would follow.
They were so weird.
Bloom decided to have a look herself, she took a few steps back and lowered her arm back down the box looked like it had been through a lot, she flipped it over and her eyes widen when she saw the box was addressed to her.
“You’ve got to be kidding me, why are you fighting over something that isn’t yours to be fighting over in the first place.” Bloom stated, she tucked the box under her right arm and looked at them disapprovingly.
“Oh please it’s not like you’ll want it.” Mia said sounding a little annoyed that Bloom would even ask that question.
Bloom narrowed her eyes was about to open her mouth and say something but KC starts talking “What she means is..” KC trails off sending Mia sending a look that says ‘would you shut up and let me handle this’ and he looks back at Bloom before continuing “You should probably read who sent you that,” he says and flashes her a quick smile. Bloom pulls the box from her right side and reads “Purple Ink?” Blooms brows scrunch up and confusion.
“Whose that?” Bloom says as she looks back her siblings, Mia throws her head back and lays down on the couch and muffles something like “she doesn’t even know” into the couch cushions. Bloom and KC both take the time to roll their eyes at her.
“It’s more so a company then a who, they’re very up and coming.” That sentence was all it took for Bloom to start seeing dollar signs, she turned away from KC and with the box still in hand she walked into the kitchen and went straight for the utensils drawer and pulled out a medium sized knife.
I bet they want me to review there product for a thousand dollars or something. Bloom thought to herself as she placed the box on the counters down started to cut it open, she couldn’t help the smile on her face. When she finally got it open, her smile dropped.
Did they send me a movie? She questioned in her head, she reached into the box and pulled out a light purple triangle box.
It was a video game that read ‘Prom Queen’ the cover looked basic enough some generic prince was placing a tiara on some generic girl. Bloom rolled her eyes for what felt like the millionth time today, she placed the game on the counter and tipped the box over to see if they had left anything else inside, a folded note fell out. Bloom reached her the note and unfolded it.
Hello Bloom Richards
We hope this finds you well, We your new friends at Purple Ink have seen your videos and think you’d be a great person to review our newest game for your audience.
Sincerely, Purple Ink
Bloom smashed up the note in her hand and turned toward the garbage can in the corner of the kitchen, she tried to throw the note in there from where she was standing but she missed. She never did have every good aim, it’s the main reason why Bloom never tried out for any sports.
She walked over to the fridge open it up and pulled out a bologna sandwich originally her mother made it for dad but he wasn’t here so Bloom decided to eat it, just as she was about to leave and head back upstairs and into her room, KC voice stopped her “Wait, so that’s it? You’re not going to at least try and check it out.” He said a little in disbelief and standing by the trash with the note unsmashed in hand.
“Yeah, it’s a no for me.” Bloom said as she took a bite out of the sandwich.
“What do you mean no?” This could be a huge opportunity for you.” KC said he still couldn’t believe she wasn’t at least going to try the game out.
“He’s right, this game isn’t even out in stores yet. Though she’s never really been into video games so I don’t get why your taking this so hard KC.” Mia said, holding the game in her hands and looking over the cover.
“They sent it to her for free i might add so she could review the game.” He said, KC seemed to be getting a bit worked he had tried the whole being an influencer although it didn’t work out he could never get passed 50 thousand subscribers also he hated the editing part of it all. He didn’t enjoy being in front of the camera like Bloom did. There was something about Bloom that everyone just seemed to like about her.
“It’s whatever, they aren’t even paying me to do.” Bloom said stepping back into the kitchen the sand which was making her throat dry and she wanted to get something to drink.
Just as she was opening up the freezer Mia spoke “I thought you didn’t care about money?” She questioned looking up from the game case and at Bloom Curiosity in her eyes.
“Did you just met her?” KC says in joking manner chuckling a bit.
“I have 6 million subscribers, I am one of the fastest growing channels last and this year.” Bloom states as she pulls out a cold drink and closes the freezer “I love freebies as much as the next person, but the fact that they want me to review their game for free to a large audience like mine isn’t going to happen, and I’ll tell you why because if I was a white influencer they would have paid me.”
KC and Mia glance at one another before nodding there heads in agreement Bloom was right, had she been white. There might have been a nice sized offer. Bloom was not looking forward to editing, heads up the stairs and into her room, she places the sandwich and drink down on a small table she has by her bed, and walks over to her bedroom door and closes it. She moves over to her closet and slips into a pair of light green pajama shorts and a black baggy t shirt to match. Bloom was going to snack and edit
