Chapter Fifteen

I can’t believe she let the door shut in my face. I mean I know she was only joking but dang that hurt. I was half expecting to see blood when I moved my hand away from my nose but thank goodness there wasn’t any. I saw her stop and look back and I saw a flash of concern in her face before she blew me a kiss and continued to class. I have to admit I never thought she would’ve done that. I know my pride has been hurt. After what happened when I finally caught up with Alex in the woods I was on edge as I had no idea she would’ve freaked out the way she did. Plus I had Rowan prowling in my head wanting to find out who had hurt our mate. Her cheek was the colour of a tomato and you could tell it was from someone slapping her. “We need to find who hurt our mate,” Rowan was growling in my head as we headed to class. “I know and I have a sneaky suspicion who hurt her but I need to think about how to deal with her, as she’s not taking the hint at all,” I mumble back. I walked into class and sat in my usual seat in the back of the class. I noticed that the other pupils in the class were talking or whispering about what happened with Alex and thank goodness for my werewolf hearing I managed to pick up a few words here and there. The person in front of me was whispering to their neighbour and I struggled to control my temper and Rowan as I heard Alex’s name along with Venus’ name and the word that made me growl loudly making the teacher shoot daggers in my direction was slapped. I needed to know the full story here and Alex wasn’t going to tell me any time soon. I mind linked Venus and told her that I wanted to see her as soon as she could in my office. She agreed to meet me in my office after school. I shut the mind link with her and opened another one to my Beta Zack as I needed someone in the office with us in case she decided to pull another trick like she did when Alex was in the hospital. “Zack, can you do me a favour and meet me in my office after school as I am having Venus come and meet me to talk about what happened with Alex,” I asked knowing he will agree. “Sure Ethan, I think Faith wants to know what happened as well same with me, Czarina and Lionel,” Zack replied. I sighed and tried to listen to the teacher but I couldn’t concentrate as all I could think of was Alex and having her back in my arms as soon as possible. I smiled remembering the sparks that flew from my hands to all over my body when I held her hands as we walked back to the school. I was relieved when Faith and Czarina finally told her about that they had found their mates. I knew as soon as it happened and it killed me keeping that from my mate but it wasn’t my news to tell. I was deep in thought as the bell rang signalling that school was finished for the day. I grabbed my bag and flew out of the room before anyone could stop me. I ran as fast as I could as I wanted to get this meeting over with as soon as possible and go and spend some time with Alex. I burst through my front door and up to my room. I knew I had a few minutes to calm down and get my Alpha mode on before I needed to head to my office. I decided to have a quick shower as I wanted to smell nice for my mate when I go see her later. I turned the shower on before stripping and stepping under the hot streams of water. I felt my muscles relax under the shower as I washed. I turned the shower off and wrapped a towel around my waist before I left the bathroom and walked into my closet. I threw on a pair of black jeans on with a light blue T-shirt on, before running my hands through my hair before leaving my room and headed for my office. “Venus is in your office waiting on you, along with me,” Zack mind linked me as I got to my office door. “Thanks, Zack I’ve just got to the office door now,” I closed the link before taking a deep breath before opening the door and walked into my office. I saw Zack standing on the other side of my desk looking utterly bored and Venus sat in one of the chairs that faced my desk. She was smiling and didn’t look at all fazed about the fact that I wanted to see her. “She wants to take us away from our mate,” Rowan growled in my head. “ She needs to die.” “We will see what she has to say before we decide anything Rowan,” I answered as I walked around my desk and sat in my chair. Venus sat there with her legs crossed with a skirt that was so short she became indecent and she wore a top that exposed her push up bra. I felt disgusted by what she was wearing to the point in which I felt physically sick. I would’ve found her appealing if I hadn’t found my Alex but now she was an embarrassment. I cleared my throat before I spoke. “Do you know why I have asked you to come and see me, Venus?” I asked her. “I know why you want to see me but I don’t get why you needed your Beta here as I know you want me to be your Luna,” Venus said grinning. I felt Rowan try and take over but I managed to keep him under control. I stared at her which made her slightly fidget in her seat. I wanted to laugh at her discomfort but I managed to keep my face emotionless. “That is not the reason I have called you here to talk. I have found my Luna and it is not you. I want to know what happened this morning with you and my mate,” I said trying to keep my temper under control. I watched her smile leave her face as she became pale. I sat back in my chair before speaking again. “Now tell me what happened and I want the truth.” “She bumped into me on purpose and then tried to slap me, I only told her the truth, that she was weak and she didn’t deserve you and that I would’ve made a better mate for you. I slapped her and tripped her as she tried to walk away,” Venus whispered the last part. I felt Rowan come to the surface and saw Venus gasp as she saw my eyes turn a deep black. “How dare you treat my mate like that! Tell me did she really bump into you on purpose or did you just take it upon yourself to make her doubt herself and me?” Rowan shouted at her as I couldn’t keep his anger come through. “I wanted to show her how weak she was and that she was a nobody. That’s all, everyone knows that you should be with someone from your original pack and not a she-wolf from a pack that was weak,” Venus shouted back. “I mean what does she have that no other shewolf has? It’s not like she’s even that pretty. I mean come on, why be with her when you can be with someone like me.” I took a deep breath in before I said anything. I was literally shaking from the anger that I was feeling towards her. She didn’t get the mates thing at all. I felt Zack come up to the back of my chair and rested his hand on my arm trying to get me to calm down. “I have told you twice before that I would never be with you ever and that I had found my mate. You have made it your mission to destroy my mate and the relationship I have with her. She is everything you are not. She’s stronger than what you think as she almost died trying to protect her family from the rogue attack we had the other week. What did you do? She’s gorgeous to me and the moon Goddess made her for me and me for her. You leave me no choice now as you are putting the whole pack in danger by your actions.” I was now standing and shaking from the anger. I knew what I needed to do but I have never done anything like this before. I wished my parents were here to give me advice but unfortunately they are not here anymore. “Lionel can you come to my office please,” I mind linked my Gamma. “Be right there Alpha,” Lionel replied back. I turned back and looked at the she-wolf sat across from me, “Venus please leave while I discuss with my Beta and Gamma and we will decide on how to proceed.” Venus hung her head as she stood from her seat and left the office. I sighed as I put my head in my hands. I heard Zack sigh as he moved around the desk to sit in the other chair that faced me. “What are you thinking?” Zack asked after a couple of minutes of silence. “I don’t know, she just doesn’t realise how much trouble she’s in as she’s disrespecting her Luna and putting the pack in danger with the way she is acting.” I sigh throwing myself into the back of my chair. Lionel knocked on the door before he entered. He sat in the seat that Venus had sat in not that long ago. “What’s going on?” he asked me and Zack. I knew I had to tell them everything including the kiss that happened when Alex was in the hospital. I took a deep breath and straightened my back before I told them what Venus has been up to. “I have asked you here, Lionel so that I can discuss a matter concerning Venus with both you and Zack,” I started. “As you are both aware of Venus has been after me since we were young, she has always wanted to be Luna and has now got it in her head that I will make her Luna and turn my back on Alex. Since the welcoming ceremony, she has increased in her plans to be my mate one way or the other. She threatened Alex at the ceremony before Alex found out she was my mate. When Alex was in hospital I went back to my room and found Venus naked and waiting for me.” “She what?” both Zack and Lionel said together standing up. “Calm down both of you, I told her where to go and told her there and then that she would never be mine or Luna and that if she continued the way she was she would be banished. As I came out of the closet she was still there and she kissed me. I pushed her off and reminded her of my threat. Alex woke up around the same time that Venus kissed me.” I leant forward and rested my arms on the desk and proceeded. “Today was the final straw. Venus has confirmed that she is the one that slapped Alex and she once again threatened Alex that she was not good enough for me and that I would get fed up with her and run to Venus. I don’t know what to do guys.” Both of my best friends looked at me silently as they took in the information I had just told them. Lionel sat there with his mouth open at what has been going on. Zack, on the other hand, looked to be deep in thought with his fingers tenting together under his nose. Zack was the first one to speak. “She has crossed the line this time and she is showing no respect to either you or to our Luna. No matter what you threaten she will not give up. I think banishment is a bit extreme as she hasn’t killed anyone, but we need to show her she can’t continue the way she is going. Have you spoken to Alex about it?” I completely forgot to see how Alex felt about what Venus has been doing. “Suggestions? I am going to see Alex after we decide something but nothing will happen before I speak to Alex since she is the one on the receiving end of Venus’ actions.” “Does she have any family in another pack that we can send her to?” Lionel asked. “What do you mean?” I asked him. “I mean we could give Venus a choice of either banishment or go and live with a family that she may have outside of the pack like an aunt or uncle or grandparents,” Lionel explained his idea. I thought that it was a good idea as I didn’t really want to banish anyone and make them rogues. I smiled at the idea but I still needed to talk to Alex as she is the Luna unofficially this now till I mark her at least. “I think that is our best option Ethan,” Zack agreed with Lionel. “ I mean she won’t give up till something is done.” “Alright, we will go with that plan. So glad I have you two as my Beta and Gamma. I think we have been away from our mates long enough don’t you?” I asked standing and head towards the door. We left the office smiling as we all headed towards our mate’s houses. I couldn’t wait to see Alex and hold her in my arms. Been too long since I saw her since earlier. I almost ran to her house but I didn’t want to sweaty by the time I got to hers. When I got to Alex’s house I heard raised voices coming from inside and I instantly knew one of them was Alex’s voice. I felt her anger even tho I hadn’t marked her yet. Just as I reached the door, it flew open and Alex ran right into me. I fell back with the amount of force that she knocked into me. I wrapped my arms around her as we fell and I felt my head hit the ground. The air was knocked out of me when Alex landed on top of me. We stayed like that for what seemed like hours before she pushed herself off of me and stood up. “I’m sorry I knocked you over,” she embarrassingly said trying to look at me. “It’s fine but more importantly are you OK?” I asked standing rubbing my head which was slightly aching. “I’m fine, just got a lot of things on my mind,” she said twisting her hands together nervously. “Can we go somewhere and talk?” “Sure I needed to talk to you anyway,” I said taking her hand and leading her away from her house and into the woods. We walked for what seems like ages till we were in a clearing that was still within our territory. I watched her let go of my hand as she walked over to a log and sat down. I went and sat beside her. I waited for her to start but she was still thinking about what had happened back at her house. I sighed and knew if I wanted Alex to start talking I was going to have to be the one to start. I looked sideways at Alex and reached for her hands. “Alex I know what happened at school today with Venus.” She looked at me with a shocked look on her face. “What do you mean, you know what happened?” She asked shaking from fright. “Honey, I know that Venus slapped you and then tripped you up this morning. She admitted everything when I spoke to her earlier,” I stopped talking as I felt her shake even more. “She also admitted to what she said to you and I can promise you what I told you afterwards is true, I love you and I will always be there for you.” “What do you mean you love me? You hardly know me,” Alex said nervously asked. “I mean that you are everything to me and I will always be yours no matter what. The Moon Goddess made you for me and you complete me ever since I saw you.” I get on my knees in front of her and look into her eyes. I get lost every time I look into them. “ Alex, I love you so much I need you and want you with every part of me. Even my wolf Rowan wants your wolf as much as I want you.” Alex started to cry as she started to believe me. I felt Rowan jumping with glee in my head. “I also need your help in deciding what to do with Venus. I want to run it past you as you are the one she has been messing with. I have spoken to my Beta and Gamma and they have suggested we either banish her or we can send her to relatives of hers in another pack. If she is allowed to stay she will continue on her path of making you miserable. I hate to think of what else she is capable of as she has shown disrespect to both you and me.” Alex looked at me questionably before she quietly asked: “What do you mean what else she will do?” I sighed as I knew that I would have to tell her everything including the kiss. “She has been trying to make me hers ever since we were young and then when you were in hospital she came to my room and kissed me. I promise I did not kiss her back. Then there is what happened today with you.” Alex just looked back at me shocked and I swear I saw hurt cross her face. I quickly cupped her face in my hands and kissed her, putting everything that I was feeling for her into the kiss. She was stiff but soon relaxed into the kiss and wrapped her arms around my neck. We pulled apart after a few minutes needing oxygen. We both stared at each other before Alex spoke. “I don’t want her banished just because of her actions. I think she will be better with any relatives that she has in another pack that way she still has the protection of a pack and maybe she will meet her mate. I also would like an apology before she goes.” “That’s my girl,” I laugh and kissed her again. She grinned into the kiss. Now all I had to do was get her to tell me why she was upset when I arrived at her house. “Alex, now we have decided on the Venus situation, can you please tell me why you were upset when I got to your house tonight?” I asked pleading with her. She stopped smiling as she dropped her eyes back to the ground. “I know who attacked our pack and when I asked my parents about him they wouldn’t tell me anything.” “What do you mean, you know who attacked our pack?” I asked feeling the knot forming in my stomach. “Alex, who attacked our pack and almost killed you?” “Oh, I didn’t even know he existed till he was in front of me.” Alex started to cry and tightened her grip around my neck. I moved my hands and wrapped them around her waist pulling her closer to me. “Please baby, who is it?” “He’s family.” Alex buried her head further into my neck. “He’s my Uncle Dennis.” she whispered into my ear.
