'I don't like that wolf eyeing our mate', he sneered and I agree. I stood proudly between this older alpha with his overconfident pups and my mate. 'Its ok. They are my family', she said to me. 'I don't care. They cannot disrespect me in front of my mate', I snarled. I could feel her stand are walk the my right side. I turned my head to see my mate's beautiful eyes. 'They didn't mean it and you know it's, she said calmly. I sighed in defeat. 'But I don't want to loose you', I said give my best puppy eyes. 'You can't loose me for long tomorrow is my birthday', she giggled. 'Your birthday?!', I repeated shocked. 'She's the alpha's daughter you dim wit. That's why she ran away the first time', Nick said through our private link. 'Yes it is. I'll be eighteen', she smiled a goofy smile. "Sister, are you ok?", one of the younger wolves asked. He was now a few feet closer than earlier. 'Move!', my mate shouted jumping over to my other side. Suddenly, a one of the silver wolves landed beside her, mere inches from where my neck was before. "Leave him be, Benjamin", she snapped. Why does she know him?!

I stood my ground with my oldest brother defending my mate. "What is wrong with you, Rach?! He's the only thing keeping you from going home!", he snarled trying to rush by me to end my mate's life. I flung him backwards into a giant oak tree. "He dies, I'll die because of the moon goddess's rules of life", I roared deathly dangerous. My family seemed to freeze. "What are you saying, Rach?", My dad responded. I sighed. "I won't live my life in joy if he dies. I will lose everything and become a soulless creature", I said weakly. "He-He's your mate?!", Beaver shouted. "Yes", a voice beside me responded. He rubbed against my body for the reassurance I needed. "And I will love her and protect with my life", he said softly. My heart started to pick up speed. "As do I", I replied breathlessly. After a moment of silence a voice interrupted the sweet moment. "What is this? A frickin wedding ceremony!", Beaver snarled. Which earned a growl from both Ryan and I. "Can I strangle him, yet?!", Ryan snapped. "Unfortunately, no. *Huff* he's my brother and the next alpha", I said blankly. "What?! I have to deal with him as a alpha and family?!", Ryan growled tensely. "The feelings mutual. What are you ranked anyways? A gamma. Because anything higher ranked would probably make your mind explode from too much thought", Beaver said sneering. I giggled at the look on Ryan's face. "Actually. I'm a alpha as well punk", Ryan snapped. "Sure you are and I look like Betty White", Beaver said rolling his eyes. "Well you wanted to be Bett-", Timber started to comment but was shut up by Beaver's glare. "Which pack are you leading", Beaver's said challenging my mate. "I lead the New Moon pack", he said calmly. Beaver's shock cover his face as it went white are paper. "The N-New Moon pack. Shift now Rach", he demand. "No, brother. I trust him and he already knows what I am", I said sternly. "SHIFT NOW", He demanded more violently. "No", I said standing my ground. He stepped closer to me, holding my gaze with his darking brown eyes. "How dare you define my orders, you-"." Hush", I said to my brother. "How dare you-". I glared at him this time seriously to say it was for a reason. We stood in silence as I smelt the air and listened. The slight smell of blood hit my nose. "Rogues", I growled. Suddenly, a scream broke through the forest. A child's scream. I paled in fear as I raced into the direction the sound was coming from leaving my mate and my family trailing behind me. I kept running until I heard a growl of intense power, ancient power like mine. I crept to the clearing, masking my scent. The child was young probably about 10 or 11 but it was different from the other children at our pack. It shook as it stood in front of a body laying on the ground , its breath more ragged with each exhale. The child was unmoving from in between the three giant rogues and the body on the ground. "Move kid!", the largest rogue said stepping closer to it. "Never!", it growl. The voice was as powerful as mine and its about the age I was when I shifted for the first time. I stared at them through the dark cover of the trees the child was shaded by the tree above it. "Final chance before I kill you with her", the second rogue growled. The child stood still, a dangerous type of still. 'Guys where are you', I I minklinked. '3 miles and lessing. You are very fast when your determined, my mate', Ryan responded. 'We can't wait that long', Maya said desperately. I saw the third rogue start running to the child and the world started to move in slow motion. I ran in front of the rogue stopping him with my shield. I stood in front of the young and the injured with pride radiating off me. "Leave them alone", I growled knowing my eyes were burgundy by know with anger. "Well, well, well. A special is a sight for sure eyes especially a beautiful female like her", the largest rogue said l*****g his lips looking me up and down as did the others follow. Maya growled in disgust. "Well, aren't you a feisty one", he said smirking. "Leave before I end your lives", I growled. "Sure, sweetheart. Just give us that s**t and that daughter of a b******d", the second one said. "No. Leave now", I growled. "Only if you come with us. I bet your just as pure as your white fur, aren't you honey?", the third one said nearing me. I shivered in disgust at his comment. Suddenly he was gone from in front of me. I looked to my right to see the rogue lifeless in Ryan's jaws. He dropped the scum of a rogue to the ground and walked to my side as my father along with my brothers stood to my left. "I believe she said leave", Ryan growled. I knew the situation was stable enough now to turn my attention to the child. I whipped around to see it kneeling child next to a women's body. I walked closer kneeling beside the child. Her firey red hair was matted in rats' nests throughout her long hair. She look up to me beautiful emerald eyes stained with red from the tears she's cried. She's eyed me carefully before turning back to the heavy breathing woman. Her brown hair scattered across her face with pale blue eyes showed though her hair barely. The bite mark was deep in her stomach and in the middle of many knife scars that could only be made by silver. "Safe...her... please..save...my...mom", the child said in between sniffles. The mother met my eyes. Shock grazed the top of her pain filled eyes as she grabbed my hand. 'Listen to me closely', her wolf linked,' I don't have much time here left. My human form is already dead and I'm barely alive myself. I am a silver wolf originally from this pack. The legend is real you need to take my daughter and unborn child with you please. Please I beg your beautiful soul for the generosity that my sister held within you', she sobbed. 'Who's your sister's, I asked not remembering any recent runaway. She looked me dead in the eyes and said, ' Laura Ann Thompson, your mother'.
