Ready

"You're kidding, right?" Colin asks nervously. "No." I answer nonchalantly & walk into the kitchen. I knew they needed their privacy for what Emma need to tell him. I don't even know why I kept that from her for so long. I knew she would understand but why didn't I? I slouch into the corner counter taking a deep sigh. I know why...I've never felt this way. I softly touch my hand to lips thinking back to that night I knew he was gonna kiss me. I tingle at the thought of him touching me, kissing me, caressing me.... "Alright, lets do it." Colin says joining me in the kitchen with Emma wrapped around his arm. I smile & Emma gives me a wink.  

"I'm sorry, Aria." Colin hugs me from behind. "Me too." Emma joins in on the hug. I smile wrapping my arms up to hug them back. "It's okay, guys. Thank you." We started this journey late January & it's now late May. I tried so hard to find him. We tried so to find him & nothing. I was ready. I was. We finish our last week of school & they all run like wild animals again at the final bell. Ugh... I step by the tree to not get trampled. "Milady." He reaches out his hand. "Austin Pierce?"   "At your service."  "Uhh?" He lowers his hand "Colin asked me to get you, I'm gonna take you somewhere." "Hold on." I tell him confused raising my hand. Before I could start he instantly says "I'm Colins step-brother, he & Emmaline asked me to help with something." "Wait, step-brother? And help with what? I'm not in on this."  "They said you'd be a feisty one." He takes my hand leading me to his car. About a half a mile in he breaks the silence. "We're close but we're very private about it."  "Why, why are you- since when have you been brothers?" "About 4 years now."  "And nobody knows?"  "Just you & Emmaline."  "Why?" I ask again.  "Story for another time."  I don't press it & wait to arrive where we ever that is. He pulls up to store I've never seen or heard of. "The Dice? Are you taking me shopping?" I ask closing the car door. "Well, I am gay." He smiles holding the door open for me. Now I'm excited for the rest of the story.

"Damn, girl!" Emmaline turns around to see me descend the stairs. "Very hot." Colin adds. "You kidding me?" Austin asked insulted. "Look at them legs. Mm, gorgeous!" I smile blushing a bit. "Alright, I think I deserve to know now. Is this for my birthday?" They all smile at each other.  Austin comes to me cups my arms. "I'm talking you to a Rave, Honey." My eyes light up smiling. "Really?"  "Yeah, our buddy is a bouncer tonight." Colin tells me. "He's gonna let us in." "Oh my god. You guys are the best." "Love you!" Emma hugs me & we head out.

"This is amazing. Thank you guys so much."  "We love you." Colin tells me. "We know you've been down lately & we thought you defiantly could have some fun." "Real fun." Emma adds. She takes my hand & leads me out to dance. After dancing for a bit I feel a tapping on my shoulder. "May I?" He leans to make eye contact with Emma asking her permission. She just smiles then nods heading back to the guys. I finally get a good look at his face as the lights change & the music changes. "Just in time." He says as the slow music plays. "Wyatt." I smile taking his hands. "You remember." He says happily. "Actually, I just spend the last few months looking for you." I tell him confidently. I said was ready & I meant it. He grins ear to ear & says "Me too." 

Emmaline POV:

As I come back from the restroom I notice the guys staring intently in Aria's direction. I look to see her too. She's still with that guy, good for her. I smile & walk back to them. "Ever hear of some privacy, gentleman?" I joke with them but also somewhat serious. "It's him." Colin says "Who's him?" I ask confused. "Him." He says more sternly looking at me. I look to Aria again. "Definitely." Austin joins "Just look at them. Look at that chemistry. You don't get that with just some random stranger you literally just meet. No way."  "You guys really think so?" They both just look at me. Like I'm supposed to know what that means. "Look at them." Austin tells me. "Now focus on him & tell me what you see." I do as he says trying to figure this guy code & I think I see it. "Oh, my god. We did it."  "No doubt." Austin agrees. 

 About an hour passes & Austin shoots up. "s**t, we gotta go! Take her, go out back." He tells Colin & he obliges with no question. I see Austin run in the opposite direction then lose sight of him. I jog keeping up with Colin in the busy club, he turns back to take my hand & continues outback as we turn the block corner he stops & pulls out his phone. "Really?" I ask him in annoyance. He pulls me into a hug, steps back then tells me "That was close." He looks around then down at his message. "Austin's around the corner, come on." 

Aria POV:

"Alright, talk guys. Now." I say not hiding my anger as Colin & Aria get in the car. "Yes, please, what the hell was that about?" Emmaline sounds annoyed as me. "A few off-duty officers came in. Our bouncer buddy sent a text." He drives. "I'm sorry babe." Colin tells Emma. "It's alright, just handle that a bit better next time guys." "Yeah, we probably should have had a plan just in case." Austin said. "I'm sorry we scared you guys." Emma cuddles up to Colin & asks Austin to take us home to my place. I sink into my seat with tears forming in my eyes.    Not again...
