Chapter 15. Sadie. The night went too quickly, as it usually did when I slept next to my mates. I rarely woke, and when I did, I drifted back to sleep feeling safe. When the sun rose, we got up, ate breakfast and dressed. A nervous energy pulsed between all of us, but the silence was hard to break as we did everything we needed to. “You gonna meet us later, or come to the workshop now?” I asked Vincent. “We still have a few hours until the guys meet us at Hunters.” Though I wanted us all together, I understood that Vincent was weakened by sustained sunlight exposure. And the last thing I wanted was that. Especially on a day when he had to be his strongest. Vincent frowned. “How many hours until we leave?” I glanced at my phone to ascertain the time. “About three hours.” He nodded.
