I held the grate open to the underground and had to watch as my female mate, Fridge, and Rogan descended the ladder until I couldn’t see them anymore.
It made me sick to stomach and desperate to go after them.
What if there’s a team waiting for them in the tunnels and I can’t get to them in time?
But no one else had the strength to hold the grate open, so I clenched my teeth and stood like a statue.
