Energy view

1000 Words
Aya It was time for our fight, and we stood across from the other team as Sindra started the fight. Michele and I started to attack the other team but Zecel just dodged Petras fireballs and tried to stay out of the fight as much as possible. It wasn’t fair. He should fight the same way he did before, but I had the feeling that he wanted to push my boundaries and therefore didn’t fight that hard.  Rick and Lane tried to hit Michele, who was fast in changing the form of her weapon from sword to shield. In one moment she fought against Lane and in the other Rick tried to blind her with no success which meant that she must have used her shield to protect her eyes from his gift.  I tried to get them away from her, but they knew exactly how she fought and tried to use their knowledge against her, and whenever I tried to intervene Petra shot fire balls at me. Zecel stood at the side of the field and no one bothered to attack him it was two against three. I had my hands full with dodging Petras fire and shooting energy pulses at her as I saw Michele running and dodging blinding impulses. She wasn’t holding onto anything, which lead me to believe that somehow she lost her object in combat with her two opponents.  I tried to search for an air ripple on the ground but wasn’t able to see anything and at the same time I needed to hold Petra at bay. One last chance I thought. I ran as fast as I could to bring some space between Petras fire and me and tried to feel the energy around me. The colors in front of me changed and I saw orange colors on things that were touched recently, blue on other lifeless objects, people and their gifts were red. There it was in the corner. A red round object filed with the energy of a living creature. I picked it up with my energy bubble and tried to run with it to Michele, but Petra blocked my way with her fire whip. Helpless I looked at Michele, who seemed to understand my intentions. Our eyes met and I knew how I would be able to hand her shield back to her. I ran and dodged Petras attacks and at the same time I used my energy ball to throw the shield back to Michele, who in return smiled and turned it back into a sword. We were back in game. I unfolded my wings and started to attack from above, which gave me and advantage. Even Lane who was cloaked couldn’t escape my newly developed extension of my gift. Every living creature has to have their own energy signature and even her cloaking gift shone bright red. I used my energy whip and attacked Lane, who didn’t realize ma attack until it was to late. She flew across the room and the combat training ended. We won. Sindra seemed as confused as the others and asked “Aya what happened? How did you see her?” I told them about the development of my gift and even Zecel was impressed “ This gift will help us a lot in our missions. Well done Aya” “Well I can’t say the same Zecel. You didn’t do anything although you were a member of our team.” “I didn’t need to fight. You two did a great job on your own. Don’t be mad, you wouldn’t have developed your gift if I had fought with you. The harder the fight the more you learn from it” “Whatever. What’s next?” “It’s late go to bed and prepare for the mission. We will meet at six in the morning.” “Yes sir.” We all went back to our rooms and I took a shower first because I needed it to cool down. Zecel made me so furious but his handsome smile made up for it somehow. My whole body burned, and I just wanted to sleep so badly that I didn’t eve bother to talk with Petra about the mission tomorrow I just needed to rest. Sleep came over me and engulfed me completely. My alarm clock rang me out of bed at five a.m. Petra was already away and pretty enthusiastic. “I wasn’t able to sleep. My first mission with Sindra, I am nervous. I want her to be proud of me and my abilities.” “Girl it’s too early to be so happy. Don’t think about it she will be proud for sure. I slept like a stone. I think my energy view mode takes a toll on my own energy levels. I never felt so tired before, but I need to pull through. My friends futures are at stake.” I showered and put the combat suit on. Petra helped me to adjust the belt and we were both ready in time. As we reached the meeting point we saw Michele, Lane and Rick coming from the other direction. The suits fit them all perfectly like a second skin and I was speechless as I saw Zecel coming down the stairs. His suit highlighted the right spots, his muscular arms and his broad shoulders looked mouth-watering in this skin-tight combat suit. Petras reaction at seeing Sindra was the same as mine. Her jaw hit the ground and she had to swallow a few times before regaining her composure. Sindra smiled and kissed her hungrily, which made the others me included turn around to give them some privacy. “Okay enough making out. We have a complicated mission ahead of us. Back to the details: about thirty girls plus minus two more to rescue, one pimp named Castor and his five guards to kill and don’t forget any demon customers. We don’t kill demons on sight. Understood? Only kill the ones we agreed to get out of the way. Self-defence is allowed for the ones who are not on our list.” We all nodded in agreement and left the base.
