" Yep, so here's jay for you." Roseanne pointed to him, " And here's-."
" Charles Kim." Jay cut her off in an uninterested tone.
Charles gave him a look, " I do know him too."
" Good for you." Jay said in a low tone.
Charles raised his brows.
" Ummmm...??" she looked at Jay questioningly. He just ignored and sipped his drink.
" Anyways, you really didn't bring a partner?" she asked looking around Jay.
" So what? I hate this concept anyways." he replied boredly.
" Looks like the Jeon company's younger son isn't working hard." Charles raised his brows with a smirk.
" What do you mean?" Jay raised his brows too.
" I saw your brother Norman with a partner though."
" A partner??" Jay thought his brother would come alone too.
" Yes, ummm where was he...." Charles searched through the crowd, " Ahh, there he is." he pointed at the opposite direction.
Jay and Roseanne both turned their heads.
" Norman and Hannah?Ooohhh" Roseanne said spotting them.
Jay looked at them with disbelief. Norman was smiling and talking with Hannah. He caught jay's eyes and waved cluelessly but Jay turned around ignoring him and gripped his glass tightly. Charles smirked seeing his tight grip on the glass.
" A-actually, he was forced.But me? i never accept being forced." Jay said adjusting his tie.
" Well, I see you go by your own rules." Charles said enjoying the scene.
" Of course, i have my own rules." Jay cleared his throat, avoiding eye contact.
" Ohh, there they are!" Roseanne pointed at her friends, " Charles, come meet my friends."
" Oh sure."
" Jay... you coming too?" She asked him.
He looked at her friends and then back at Charles.
" Yo, Harley come with me for once." he pulled Harley who was enjoying himself with the drinks.
" Yahhh, where? where?.... What not there jayyy!!!" he tried to get away but Jay was already pulling him behind Roseanne and Charles.
Roseanne hugged the girls. " I'm sorry i didnt come earlier."
" Ofcourse, we understand you might be busy." jennifer said eyeing Charles.
" Yeah, but it's ok Rosie. Anyways, i think you don't know Gerald from here right?" Julia asked Roseanne.
" Ahhh, so HE is Gerald Kim?" Roseanne said smiling at him, " Hello, Im Roseanne Park."
" Hello there. Finally, met you right?" Gerald smiled back.
Jay was beside Ezra. " Tch, so you couldn't tell me who your partner was, right?"
" I said you would know at the party. And now you know, don't you?" Ezra smirked.
Harley hid behind Jay and Ezra, silently cursing. Just then Julia caught him. They had a brief eye contact but Julia looked away first.
All this time, Liliane was silent.
" Hello everyone, I am Charles Kim. Sorry for not introducing myself."
" No, it's fine." Gerald said.
" Y-yeah, we know each other anyways." Julia added.
Jennifer glared at him and he glared back too.
It was kinda silent since nobody had anything to say.
" Smells like tension in here~" Brent said enjoying it.
Liliane elbowed him hard at the stomach. " Yahh, stop abusing me!" he whined.
Charles then noticed Liliane, " Hello, Liliane. How are you doing?"
Liliane almost fell off the high chair, " O-ohhh Hello Charles, Im fine, very fine." she said embarrassed.
Charles just smiled. There was silence again.
" Umm... So I heard there was gonna be a ball dance kinda thingy tonight." Roseanne broke the silence.
" Well, thats boring." Jay said.
" Woah really? Thats gonna be fun." Gerald gave a different reaction.
" I know right. We two can dance." Julia said and both of them smiled at each other.
Harley glared at the two while jay and Ezra glanced at him.
Mr.Son and Victor also entered the hall. The group noticed them.
" Victor Min after a long time huh." ezra followed his eyes to the silver haired, pale guy. They used to be friends back when they were kids but after Victor's company went down, he had become distant and rather cold. They never talked since then.
The group all stared at the two men talking with other important people. Their attention was diverted when the emcee spoke through the mic.
" Hello ladies and gentlemen. We proudly welcome you to the most grand party of the year, The Elite party!"
Everyone clapped.
Irene and Joy were also sitting by the table at the next corner. Irene had already spotted Jennifer and her friends earlier. They were on the far opposite side from them and she was judging the group since the beginning.
" Hah, must be nice being the top ten." she glared, raising an eyebrow.
" Oh you mean them?" Joan innocently pointed at the group.
" Hey are you dumb! Don't point at people." Mona whisper shouted as she pulled her hand down.
" Sorry."
" I know right. Those four girls have wrapped their fingers around the most influential guys." Mona added glaring at them.
" They are just good for that anyways." Irene flipped her hair.
" Absolutely, like they don't have any shame-."
" Seriously, can't you just listen to the speech and stay quiet??" Joy was irritated.
Mona rolled her eyes but they all kept quiet.
The emcee continued, " If you don't already know, we have organized a ball party for tonight. So, grab your partners already because this is not a chance to miss."
Jay secretly glanced to Roseanne. She looked straight ahead, uninterested. Charles turned to her and noticed Jay glancing as well. They both looked at each other and charles smirked opening his mouth.
" Roseanne, do you want to have a dance with me?"
The lights were now dim and a slow music started playing. Some people were already on the dance floor.
" Umm... let's just wait for some time." She replied.
Jay secretly chuckled at the other side.
Gerald and Julia also walked towards the dance floor, arms intertwined.
" Ms.Jennifer, how about you?" ezra held his hands towards her. She thought for a while and decided to go for it.
Harley stared at Julia and gerald's back in a gloomy way.
" Imma go to the bar." he said. Jay just nodded looking at his figure.
" Ughh, Im boredd." Brent whined.
" Go to hell then." Liliane replied boredly.

At the other side of the party, Mrs.Park was with Mr.Kim . Mr. Jeon came by talking to other people and noticed her. She also saw him then excused from Mr.Kim, going towards him.
"Good evening, Mr.Jeon." she smiled.
" Good evening,Mrs.Park. Long time no meet."
" Yes, Mr.Jeon. I was pretty busy."
" I can see it." he looked towards Mr.Kim who was talking with other people, " I think Mr.Kim has been treating you well?"
" Ofcourse, he's so kind and generous. You see, His son,Charles is also like him. Im thinking of marrying Roseanne to Charles." she said proudly.
Mr.Jeon gave a confused expression but put on a smile immediately," Oh, i give you my best wishes" he showed a kind smile.

" So, what is going on between you and Charles?" ezra asked Jennifer while slow dancing.
" It's better if you dont know." She fake smiled.
" Is it that serious?"
" Yes, it is."
They danced for some time when her purse started vibrating. She took out her phone immediately.
" Wait, I need to take this call." she said going towards the door.
Ezra scratched his head but he noticed something. Irene was going towards that way too. He went ahead and grabbed her wrist.
" Are you following Jennifer?" he said raising his brows.
" N-no! Im going to the washroom." she tried to pull away.
" Well, your eyes were definitely following Jennifer."
" Cut this nonsense, will you?" she looked annoyed.
" Then leave her alone." he said seriously.

Jennifer was on her phone talking to someone.
" I know....yes you're right.....uh-huh." After a few moments she finished her call. She was standing outside the washroom where there was a huge corridor. She turned to go back when she heard footsteps behind her. She ignored it thinking it was some guest and continued walking, but the footsteps were quiet. And it was matching with her steps, like as if someone was following her. She turned her back but saw no one and fastened her pace.

Clicking sounds echoed in the empty corridor which made her even more scared. Without delaying for a second, she ran to the hall but tripped on her dress, falling down on the cold marble. Her breathing was getting uneven and fast, sweating profusely. While the footsteps neared and stopped right behind her.

Roseanne was still standing near the bar and so was Jay, Charles, Liliane and Brent. Suddenly, all the lights went off and whispering filled the hall.
"What's going on?" Liliane stood up from the chair.
All the people started looking here and there. Julia and Gerald also came back from the dance floor.
" Thats confusing." Gerald said.
Ezra came rushing towards them.
" Have you guys seen Jennifer??" he asked them.
" No why? wasn't she with you?" Roseanne scrunched her brows.
" No, she had left for a call but didn't come back."
" What do you mean?" Julia looked a little panicked.
" It's been a whil-." a loud gunshot filled the room.
Everyone screamed. They all looked at each other with wide eyes.
" Jennifer! where's Jennifer??" Roseanne shouted.
