“Are you sure you don’t want us to come in with you?” Jessica asked. The worry was written all over her face. So was exhaustion. She’d been through her own kind of hell the last few weeks. Karli couldn’t ask more of her.
“I’m sure,” Karli said. “I will be fine. He wants the same thing I do.”
“We think. You said he’s convinced Raina knows something.”
“Yeah, but he doesn’t know what or if she does know anything. He’s even more in the dark than I am. He needs my help, and I want to help him,” Karli said. She unbuckled her seatbelt and reached for the handle.
