Three | Alexander Hitchman

Ophelia P.O.V. Leaving class today I felt better than ever. I think that it was that Myles kid that's really making me have this extra pep in my step today, but I don't want to go assuming things. Besides, I'm just trying to help him make some new friends so he feels welcomed here.  On my way to my second block of the day I heard my phone ding quietly in my pocket.  "maybe it's Spencer texting me to tell me why she left class early" was my first thought.  As I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and went to see who texted me, I suddenly was robbed of my vision.     "Guess who!" I heard a deep smooth voice say. I immediately knew who it was, nobody else had a voice as smooth as his.    "Mmm..." I said pretending to have to think about who it was.     "My guess would have to be...Alex."    "You got me!" he chuckled as he removed his big hands from covering my eyes. He looked different today, usually he was always dressed very clean and proper. Today though, he was in a hoodie and some gym shorts. His usual dirty blonde hair was all messed up and his very tall body was covered in beads of sweat.     "Woah, you look so different today! Who is this and what have you done to Alexander!" I teased while sticking a little bit of my tongue out.     "Ha ha very funny sugar, I just got done trying out for the basketball team. I feel so refreshed after those workouts and I figured we could go get some food to celebrate me actually doing it this year."     "Of course we can, what do you think about heading over to Ken's Kebabs in about 20 minutes?" I smiled. Although the name was pretty corny, they had some of the best food around.  Alex agreed and gave me a quick peck on the cheek before heading to the locker room to get cleaned up. Oh, did I mention that Alex is the guy I've had a crush on for forever and now he finally has feelings for me too? It's been a good 4 months with him and I can only hope for more. I made my way out of the building  and towards Alex's stone gray mustang. I figured I'd wait outside since it was such a beautiful day out. I leaned against the hood of his car just soaking up the rays from the sun. These were the kind of days I lived for, calm and peaceful.  About 10 minutes past before I was greeted with Alex running to his car. He looked much better now that he was in clean clothes. He quickly ran around to my side of the car and opened the door, motioning for me to get in.    "Thank you, kind sir" I joked as I sat in the hot leather passenger's seat. I hissed at the sudden hot contact and quickly put my legs up so they wouldn't continue to burn.      "Sorry about that sugar, eventually I'll learn to use the sun shield you bought me for the windshield" he said with his best pouty face.     "mhmmm. I'm sure you will cutie." I replied as he started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. When we arrived at Ken's I noticed just how unusually packed it was. Ken's is great and all but I've never seen them have a full parking lot in the 6 years that they've been here. I'm glad to see their business booming though.  Since my dad was a businessman just as much as he is an alpha, Ken was one of his first leaps into the food industry. He gave Ken 300,000 dollars to get started with and when business was starting to reach its peak about 2 years ago he bought it from Ken. Of course Ken didn't just want to take the money and leave his business, so my dad offered him the Manager position and he gladly accepted. I hope one day my dad shows me how to properly invest in businesses and build my own power. We walked in and luckily another couple had just gotten up to leave so we just had to wait for the table to be cleared. I took this opportunity to look at the cool neon 50's themed decor. They were currently playing Jailhouse Rock by Elvis. This was one of my favorite oldies by far.  Alex and I took our seats and scanned over the menu, thinking about what we could possibly want to eat. Shortly after, we saw who I presumed to be our waitress walking over to us with a big smile on her face.     "Hi guys! My names Kim and I'll be your waitress this afternoon, can I get you lovebirds started with some drinks?" She shot us an innocent wink when she was done and I couldn't help but blush.     "Can I get a chocolate milkshake? and for her a strawberry with Oreo milkshake please?" Alex answered while laughing. He obviously found my embarrassment to be hilarious.      "Of course, I'll be right back with those for you." Kim said as she walked away.      "That was soooo not funny Alex, I was so embarrassed! How did she know?"     "We'll my best guess is that she saw you drooling over me," He said bluntly.     "Just kidding O, I drew a heart on your napkin when you weren't looking." Wow, he really was the sweetest guy I knew. Somehow this all just feels way too good to be true though. I mean we haven't had s*x, or anything close to that. That had to bother him, I mean after all he has those urges and, he isn't worried about waiting for his mate.  Don't worry about that now!  I thought to myself. I should just enjoy this moment while it lasts. Soon the waitress was out with our milkshakes and I immediately took a big sip of mine. It was a pure masterpiece if I do say so myself.     "Are you guys ready to order or should I give you a few more minutes to look over the menu?" Kim asked us trying not to be too pushy.     "We're ready," I said while glancing at Alex to make sure that he actually was ready. He shook his head in agreement and I let him go first.      "I'd like a whiskey burger with fries, and no ketchup on the burger please."     "and for you?"     "Umm..I'll  have the Caesar salad with chicken." I decided.  She gave us a quick nod and went to go put our order in. In the meantime Alex and I just sat there making small talk, asking about each other's days, asking about plans for the week, etc. Out of nowhere, I felt my heart begin to race and I thought I was having an anxiety attack. I couldn't seem to focus on Alex who was now telling me all about Basketball tryouts and future games. It wasn't until the door chimed that I noticed why my heartbeat skyrocketed. I looked over to the door and caught a breeze of the most amazing scent on the planet.  Fresh apple pie, there's no way this could be coming from the oven. No apple pie has ever smelled this strong. Then, Myles walks in and boy does that scent get even more potent. He almost immediately spots Alex and I, and begins striding over to us.     "Myles! Hey, what're you doing here?" I exclaimed. Damn he smells good, and his lips look so plump. I would love to just take that black t-shirt off of him and kiss him right now. Have him take me right on this table in front-     "Ophelia! Hello? I asked you who this guy is!" Alex snapped at me. Oh s**t, I cant believe I just daydreamed about having s*x with Myles right in front of Alex. I hope he didn't notice.     "I'm sorry, I was zoned out. Alexander, this is Myles. Myles, meet Alexander Hitchman." I said sheepishly.     "Nice to meet you buddy. Are you new here?" Alexander said to him, obviously still weary about the situation.     "Yeah, I'm a senior this year. You guys seem to be close friends." He said with an almost sarcastic smile.  "This can't be good. Myles seems almost, dare I say jealous? I'm not sure why though." I think to myself.     "Actually, Ophelia and I have been talking for a while now. If I'm lucky she'll let me be her boyfriend one day." Alex shot me a wink.      "If you're lucky indeed...anyways Ophelia," he turned his head my way and smiled, "I'm excited for Thursday, I've picked out a few of my favorite movies for us to watch."  This clearly ticked Alex off pretty well because he looked as if he was going to blow a gasket in his seat.     "What's Thursday Ophelia? You invited him on a date? Are you serious?" I could see the flash of different emotions going through his face. Anger, sadness, jealousy, he looked so confused. I suddenly started to panic, how do I even begin to make this up to him? Hell, I'm having a hard time even convincing my mouth to move when Myles is around! Oh god this can't be good.  I did my best to try and figure out the best thing to say. "Alex, I know it sounds pretty bad, but I promise it's not a date. I just figured since Myles was new here that I'd be..polite and introduce him to my brothers. That way he could have some friends. Please don't be upset with me." I looked downwards as I spoke, trying to avoid eye contact with either him nor Myles.     "Right, okay. I understand that you're trying to be nice Lia, but please don't do anything dumb that will hurt me." Alex looked at me with caring eyes. He seemed to have calmed down since I explained myself, and thank you Moon Goddess because I didn't want to argue with him over it.     "Well, it was nice seeing you but I have some business to attend to. I'll see you Thursday Ophelia." Myles glared at Alexander quickly but smiled to cover it up. I only looked up when I heard the bell above the door go off.  I quickly changed subjects to music and went back to eating my salad. Shortly after we finished our food and went half on the bill. I don't necessarily believe in the whole "guys need to pay for the date" stigma. I have my own money from working over the summer and am glad to offer to pay for myself or the whole date.  I gave Alex a kiss on the cheek as we walked out, overall I think we both enjoyed this date. Apart from the whole meeting between him and Myles.  I got into the car and turned on one of my favorite songs at the moment, "Make You Mine". I hoped that Alex realized that I put this song on for him. About a minute into the song he smiled at me and held my hand. It was times like these where I was glad that he didn't drive a manual. I giggled to myself quietly.      "What're you giggling about cutie?"     "Nothing nothing, just thinking." I was definitely blushing so I turned my head to face out the window so he didn't see.     "Alright, whatever you say cutie." Once Alex pulled into my driveway he got out and opened my door for me. As I got out I noticed that my brother Carson was waiting at the door.      "Hey bro! You were good to my sis right!?" Carson shouted to Alex.      "You know I was! Very, very good to her." He shot a wink at Carson which immediately told me that he was making a dirty joke. I could feel my cheeks heating up as he spoke and quickly went into the house. In a few minutes both Alex and Carter came into the house. Carter went straight to the theater and Alex joined me in the kitchen. I decided I was going to bake something before heading to bed. “What should I bake tonight Alex?” I questioned.  “What about a simple angel food cake? It sounds delicious.” “Good idea, I haven’t had one of those in forever! Would you mind helping me with prepping everything?”  “Of course not, let me just wash my hands and then I’m all yours.” He flashed the cutest smile ever as he walked over to the sink.  By the time I had gotten all of the ingredients we would need out, Alex had finished washing his hands and put on an apron. We spent the next hour and a half dancing around in the kitchen, using all of the last bit of energy I had in me.  I was half asleep leaning on the counter when the oven timer went off. I quickly grabbed a few toothpicks and opened the oven. After sticking a few holes in the cake to see if it was done, I was satisfied to see that it was indeed done. I glanced over at Alex who was now full asleep slumped on the bar stool with his head and arms on the island. I couldn’t help but laugh as I was cleaning up the kitchen a bit.  Once the cake was cooled and put away I went over to Alex and gently shook him. I don’t usually enjoy disturbing one's sleep because I love sleep but I also didn’t want to see him wake up with a pain in his neck either.  He groaned a little bit but once he realized that it was me that woke him up, his eyes lit up. He pulled me in for a loose hug, as he was still basically asleep and I rested my head on his. This was exactly where I had dreamt of being for the longest time, right here in his arms. He was so perfect..how could he ever want a broken girl like me? I pushed the negative thoughts out of my head and gently pulled Alex towards the stairs. When I finally arrived at my bedroom after Alex gave me a kiss on the cheek and left for his, I was beyond exhausted. I looked at the clock and was shocked to read 1:20am. “Never again, I will never stay up this late again” I thought to myself as I dozed off into a deep sleep.
