Training with Matthew

I woke up covered in a heavy blanket, the silk sheets felt amazing against my skin. I jumped scaring Kogua who was sleeping next to me. His sudden movement sent him falling of the bed. A heavy thud filled the room.
" Kogua are you okay?! "
He laid on the floor trying to catch his breath. He looked at me and laughed.
" Guess I deserved that for stealing cuddles when you were supposed to be resting and feeling better. Are you feeling any better Quinn? "
I didn't hurt, I think I honestly just hit flooded with information. I looked around the room. It was a small room with one queen sized bed covered in purple bedding and a gray comforter. A small loveseat and TV were on the other side of the room. A black door was swung open and an empty closet stared back. A door next to that was open and you could see a lovely double sink in the bathroom. One more door stood alone at the front of the room.
" Is this my room then? "
Kogua cleared his throat and I looked at him.
" It's actually our room... I can sleep on the couch but Matthew said mates shouldn't be separated. "
I blushed at the realization that Kogua is my mate and in a few short days I will feel the same mate bond he has been feeling for years. It would make staying away from him difficult. It would be like trying to put out a fire with a single bucket. Only to find out that bucket was full of oil instead of water. I knew my face was red and he would be abke to hear my heart racing. He took a few deep breaths.
" Quinn please I need you to calm down I can smell you from here and it's making things difficult for me. "
I realized my body was heating up. I stumbled towards the bathroom locking myself in and stripping down to jump into a cold shower. I could hear kogua pacing the room and growling. My body wouldn't stop heating up I didn't know what to do. Why was I feeling like this?
" Quinn please I'm begging you, I can't leave this room and you smell like heaven. "
I turned the shower on full blast the icy shards stabbing my back as they pelted down. I saw a blackberry body soap and rubbed it all over my body trying to think of things that relaxed me. Empty fields of flowers. Rain on a sunny day. The way Holly smiled when I was younger. The thought of Holly relaxed me and I felt normal again. I hotnout drying off with a fluffy towel and wrapping my hair up putting my clothes back on. Kogua stood at the door when I opened it he seemed calm but his face was impossibly close to mine.
" I will never take advantage of you. Never hurt you. But I need you in the only way I can have you. Forgive me Quinn. "
His lips covered mine in a heated passion. He tasted like fresh honey. Sticky and sweet. His lips pulled away as he pressed his forehead against mine.
" I can control myself. I can control myself. "
He looked into my eyes and placed a small kiss to my forehead. He turned me towards the bedroom as he closed the door to the bathroom. I could hear the water turning on. His kiss left behind sparks, tiny fireworks covered my skin as I sat on the bed. My fingertips brushing against my lips. One little kiss could do so much to me. I looked up when the bathroom door opened and Kogua stepped out.
" Quinn. Is something wrong? "
I heard a voice in my head that made me jump.
" Tell him to do that again! We need to be kissed like that again! "
I calmed down when I realized it was only Aryth. Kogua looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
" Quinn do you have your beast already? "
I didn't want to lie to him. Aryth moved in my mind I didn't know what to say. I wanted to tell him yes but I didn't know if I could. I didn't want Aryth to be mad.
" Tell him yes. He is our mate and he should be trusted. "
I nodded and Kogua smiled. Looking at me as if I was the most beautiful thing he ever saw.
" What are they like? What's their name? Quinn how do you feel? "
I clamped my hand over his mouth. He was bombarding with me questions and my head ached as Aryth was talking too.
" Kiss him if he won't kiss us. "
I moved my hand and covered his lips with mine. I didn't know what to do and this seemed right. Koguas skin heated against mine. His tongue tapped my bottom lip as I began to open my mouth. A sharp knock on the door made us pull apart.
" Quinn it's Matthew. I need to start your training for next week. "
I blinked and opened the door to find Matthew standing and waiting for me. He smiled when he saw me.
" You look just like your mother Quinn. So all shifters need special training. Your already behind and need to start training immediately. "
I nodded looking back into the room to see Kogua. He smiled and nodded it was okay. I closed the door following Matthew towards an indoor gym. He hit a switch and all the windows were covered leaving the room pitch black. All I could hear was his voice.
" Quinn don't freak out. When you start your first shift your beast will take over leaving you blind. We need you to realize there will be lots of pain the first time. Shifters don't wait for a full moon like wolves. Shifters shift on the mark of their 18th birthday. "
The lights came on and I was looking into the eyes of a tall bear. Then as he stretched down he became a solid black wolf, he turned his neck and black and yellow fur covered the body of a cat. Then he laid down and the orange and white fur of a fox was left.
" Shifting can be easy and reliable in battle. remember That. "
I looked at the fox that I could still hear talking. I know my eyes were wide.
" Yes Shifters can talk no matter what. "
