Matthew shifted back, his skin was covered in dark scars that covered from just below his collar bone to his ankles. I saw the look in his eyes when he saw me staring. He looked at the deep scars, running his finger across the largest one on his chest.

" My father said I was going to be a man above men. Benjamin thought i was a monster. A demon that needed slain. Someone the world would be better with out. "

Koguas father had done this too him? It was hard to believe Kogua was so kind and loving when his father was so heartless and veil. In all my life I'd never seen kogua hurt anyone. aside from the girl he slapped on our first date. So much had changed recently.

I nodded as Matthew threw a pair of shorts on to cover his body. He turned to look at me. Stretching his arms and legs out as he talked.

" Alright what's your gift? "

I stood there for a minuets wondering what it is i was supposed to have or give him. Matthew waited for a response, when it didn't come he stared at me.

" Quinn your gift what is it? You have met your beast right? what's the gift that comes with her? She did tell you right? "

I waited for Aryth to say something to help make since of what Matthew was talking about. When I still didn't have an awnser he blinked at me a few times. He seemed to be trying to mindlink my beast the way he stared at me.

" Quinn what is your beast name? "

When silence filled my head I wondered if Aryth was okay with Matthew knowing her name. She stirred in my mind but didn't argue, or try to stop me.

" Aryth. "

Matthew's eyes grew in size as he backed away from me. He paced the space he made between us staring at me as he did. What was wrong with Ayrth? What did he know that I didn't?

" Aryth. Has she said who she is yet? Aryth have you told her? Damn beast stubborn b***h! "

I jumped back at his sudden aggressive attitude. He grabbed my arm yanking me to him.

" Aryth you tell her now or I will! "

I felt Aryth stiffen and turn towards Matthew. Her voice of silk and honey filling my head and exited my mouth.

" You sorry excuse for a beast dares to threaten me! I am the greatest beastbto ever live and I will be taking Quinn to the top! She will take her place as the Queen as prophecy has foretold! Quinn the forgotten Queen. "

I felt weak when Aryth finished and Matthew just stared at her.

" Aryth this is not what she wanted. "

Aryth looked at the floor, my eyes feeling the wet tears tracing down the lines in my face.

" Quinn is my other half now. I can not worry about the thoughts of my old half. Moon Goddess Selena gave me a second chance for a reason. Matthew I have to fulfill my duties this time, no matter what the cost. "

Matthew's face grimaced as he walked away from me.

" If that's what you must do, my sister deserved better and so does Quinn! "

When Matyhew slammed the door shut I felt the tears pick up as Aryth slipped bavk into the darkness of my mind.

" Aryth what just happened? "

Aryth moved and sighed deeply as she started to explain. She sou ded in pain, miserable and broken.

" I am your mothers beast. She was supposed to become Queen of beast and restore life to the shifters race. She found her mate your father years ago and wanted to be with him. She made a deal with Selena to raise her daughter as the rightful Queen and would train you as she had been train. Your grandmother was outraged by her choice and sent for her assassination. Quinn there is something you don't know about Finnagan and I think it's time you found out the truth about him. I do have a gift for you. All shifters and their beast are given a gift to help then through life. "

Aryths voice sounded sad as she presented my gift in my mind. I gasped as I saw what she was giving me.
