Omegas house rules

The day started out slow. Jeffery One of the large guys from yesterday woke me up with three taps to my door. He brought me a bag of uniforms in multiple sizes to try on. I was not used to harsh and itchy materials as I usually wore soft fabric dresses. The image of Finnagan sitting on his bed came to mind. I got dressed and followed the man down stairs. He opened a door to the kitchen and motioned to an older looking lady.
" Mary Jane this is Quinn, She and her father are new members and she will need trained in the omega house rules. I trust you to do a good job. "
The lady flicked her wrist and reached her hand towards me.
" Come here child I'll have you help with the easier stuff for now. When your bigger you can do more and it's not so bad. "
She seemed nice, like a grandma I never had. I followed her to a short table they had by the back door. She sat down on an old stool and I sat in a small chair and she handed me a knife and a bowl to peel potatoes. I struggled at first and a young omega named Holly brought me this tiny tool called a tater peeler. The tool worked alot better in my small hands. I was happy to work. It was almost fun. The day drug on after lunch I followed Holly to the rooms and helped make beds and sweep floors. With the two of us we made quick work of it. Holly told me I was a fast learner and would soon be able to handle a floor by myself. Seemed like alot of work but if it meant food and shelter. I worried about my father. Finnagan hasn't said anything about what happened the other day. I was following Mary down the stairs towards the laundry room when I felt a sharp tug on my hair. My red hair cascaded down my back in large curls. When I turned around I saw the girl from yesterday her face in a scowl.
" No omega is gonna have prettier hair than me! "
She held a knife and yanked until my hair fell to the ground. My curls my mother loved so much were no longer on my head. The girl laughed. Hitting me multiple times in the face and busting my nose while she laughed at me.
" I'm Cassidy the daughter of the Alpha. And your a stupid Omega learn your place now before I have to reteach this lesson to you. "
I felt tears in my eyes.What ha I done to deserve this? I had done everything hee father asked me to do. Mary pulled me down the stairs quickly as the girl laughed and kicked my lost curls. Mary looked at me pity in her eyes.
" Cassidy is not the best child dear, best stay clear of her. From now on wear a bonnet to cover your hair. She has a way of bullying her way around here. "
I wiped my tears and looked around at the other omegs who wore their hair in tight buns on top of their heads.
" Why was she so mean? I haven't done anything to her? "
Mary scuffed
" Child you don't have to do a thing when that brats around. She causes mayhem and mischief no matter where she is. She seems to have taken a liking to you. Do yourself a favor never fight her. Just let her do what she wants and you'll live for another day. The last person to talk to Cassidy about her behavior was beheaded before the entire pack. "
I thought this pack was safe. I thought I would be okay here. Beheaded for talking?! Mary straightened up and huddled me into the center on the room and showed me the way to properly fold the clothes.We stayed down stairs folding for a long time. Before too long we were done. Mary dusted off her dress and we headed up the stairs to the dining hall. She grabbed a small black plate from a shelve labeled Omegas dishes and she led me to the leftovers so we could eat dinner. Surprisingly there was plenty to eat. Mary gave me warm stew and a roll. she also gave me a handful of grapes and strawberries.
" You will eat until your stomach is full at every meal. I can't have you passing out, or getting sick due to lack of nutrition. Omega house rule 1 don't talk to anyone with a higher status unless they talk to you first. Rule 2 omegas don't date beyond their rank. Don't expect anyone to look at you as anything but a maid. Rule 3 don't slack off or you awnser to me. Rule 4 don't get attached to anyone. "
I didn't know how to respond. I heard a door open and watched Finnagan walk in. He had dark bruises forming on his face and arms. He grabbed a plate and sat next to me.
" Hey sweetie how was your day? "
I looked at him as I feared what had happened. He smiled at me.
" Don't worry, I train with the higher ups. It's good money we will soon have our own place with land. You won't have to work long. I'll prove to be a good warrior. "
I looked at Mary. Her eyes holding a sorrowful look. She looked at Finnagan.
" They will kill you before that happens. Mark my words. The Alpha and his family don't take well to outsiders. They will keep the girl as staff here. I hope she doesn't grow up pretty. Pretty things get broken around here. "
I looked at Mary and then to Finnagan. Would Finnagan die doing this job. I didn't want him to be hurt. I wanted him to stay with me here. I felt scared again. Like the night on the cliff terror seeping into my bones.
" Finn....you won't leave me here alone right? "
His eyes filled with an emotion I didn't recognize. He pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head like father used to.
" I won't leave you here alone. I swear. "
