Desi walked into Lily’s room early in the morning, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. She hadn’t slept much, the weight of the situation pressing on her chest. Lily was still sleeping, her tiny form barely moving under the covers. She heard footsteps behind her and turned to see Lucas standing in the doorway, his face as hard as always. He didn’t say anything, just stood there, watching his daughter. "She slept through the night," Desi said, her voice quiet. "That’s a good sign." Lucas crossed his arms, his eyes never leaving Lily. "Is it?" His tone was sharp, but there was something else beneath it. Something softer. "She doesn’t look better." Desi sighed and walked over to the monitors, checking the readings. "Her vitals are stable for now. That’s all we can hope for at this point. But
