More than A Bet?

Chapter 1 Lisa's POV "Lisa!!!" my mom yelled "Come on, wake up or you would be late for school" Ugh I reach for my glasses and placed it on grumpily then get up from my bed to brush my teeth and shower. "Mom where are my contacts?" I yelled "I threw them away darling you don't need them, it's time you stop wearing it so I helped you get rid of them" I know you are wondering why I use contacts if I use glasses already? Let me explain, so I don't come from a....simply put we are poor, I got lucky when my mom's boss decided to sponsor my education and enroll me in his sons school which is one of the most expensive private schools. Given my situation, it would be best for me if I kept a low profile and not attract undue attention to myself so I try to hide anything that would make people notice me. "It won't hurt to not wear contacts right?" I ask myself besides I am still wearing my glasses. I decided to let it be and not put on contacts besides what could possibly go wrong? I put on my uniform and ate my breakfast then kissed my mom goodbye School doesn't start until 9:30 but I always leave home by 8 0'clock so I can catch the bus and also avoid being seen "Mummy isn't that the uniform I saw on TV of that big school? a little girl beside me on the bus said The one thing I always had to face was the fact that the school I attended was known everywhere. It was every teenagers dream to go there. It was expensive so anyone who sees the uniform would automatically think that you come from a rich family. I always got stares from a lot of people probably wondering why I take the public bus if I am rich. "It's already 8:30", I was wondering why we hadn't gotten there yet when the bus suddenly stopped moving "I am sorry I am having issues with the engine" the bus driver said Could my day get any worse? I would definitely not make in time on legs to the next bus stop but I took my chances. I started sprinting, the cool breeze blowing against my hoodie that I had thrown on in the bus. By the time I get to the bus stop it is already 8:45 "s**t!" I muttered under my breath. I had missed the bus so I had to get an Uber which would cost me my money for lunch. Arghh! I had to wait for another 10 minutes before the Uber arrived. When my Uber finally arrived I instructed the driver to drop me 5 minutes away from my school to avoid anyone seeing me. Everything was ruined. I usually got to school around 9 when people where not yet around so I could get my books and go to my first class without being seen It was already 9:10 when I got to school, I was rushing towards the gate when a security officer stopped me "Where are you going Miss?" he asked "Inside" I said stating the obvious "May I see your ID Card?" he asked FUCK! I totally forgot about that. I mentally face palm So anytime we resume we have to go through a whole check-in to prevent anyone that doesn't belong to the school from entering. I tried to explain to the security officer but he just continued shaking his head as an act of refusal. Arghh! I had to stay outside watching other students enter. They could only attend to me after attending to others who where with their identity cards. It was by 9:25 when another security officer came and asked me to follow him. We went to the administrative office where I had to wait for 10 minutes for them to make sure I was a student of the school. Everything was confirmed and I was allowed to go to my class When I got there I peeped through the glass and saw the class had already started. I breathed in and out many times trying to prepare myself mentally before I opened the door. When I did, it made a loud noise which made everyone to fall silent and look at me...the person who interrupted the class. My face flamed up "I am so sorry" I said and was about to look for an empty chair when the teacher said "Lisa didn't you read the updated rules and regulations? Hoodies are not allowed anymore, only the school's cardigan is. I'm sorry but I would have to collect that " I really didn't want to so I took my sweet time removing my hoodie. Poor me, poor hoodie. I felt naked without it because it kinda protected me from the world where I'd be noticed. It was very awkward considering the fact that the only sit available was the one next to Trevor Woods, the captain of the school's football team and known for switching girls like his underwear and trust me, I wasn't exaggerating. I sat down next to him and stuck my nose in my book to hide my face hoping he doesn't notice me. I thought I had hidden myself perfectly but at the end of the class when I was packing my things to leave for my next class he came towards me and said 'Lisa hun, you've got real pretty eyes" I knew it! I should have worn those darn contacts! It was lunch time but since I didn't have any money for lunch I decided to go to the library. I sat down hoping to get some homework done but I ended up sleeping off I woke up to someone tapping me "Hmmm" I responded "Wake up sleeping beauty" I looked up to meet a very handsome face inches away from mine But then I realized that it was Tristan! My senses kicked in. I quickly stood up creating a screeching noise catching the librarian's attention "Sshhhhh" she said placing her hand over her lip I turn the other way and start walking away when someone grabbed my hand creating sparks and pulled me back. Well that was weird. "You forgetting something princess" he said I turned and noticed I had left my phone and books on the table "Thanks" I muttered packing my stuffs in a hurry and leaving Later that day*** As I walked down the hall I noticed many people staring at me and whispering. I started getting chills as if something was wrong. That's when I felt cold liquid running down my hair I turn back and noticed that Brittany just dropped her iced tea on me. I was in shock. What went wrong? So much for staying out of drama "You b***h! I can't believe it. He broke up with me for you, an ugly duckling". "Uhhh??!!" I was very confused and humiliated Everyone in the hall started laughing I quickly rushed to the toilet. I stared at myself in the mirror and cleaned up after screaming at no one in particular "Arghhh!" I had to change into my gym wear and then the principal let me head home early. I scoffed at the fact that, that was only what he did, he knew clearly well who dumped the drink on me because we had 24/7 security cameras round the whole school. He just didn't say anything because Brittany's parents gave huge donations to the school, so the principal didn't say anything because he knew if he did they would withdraw their donations. Scaredy cat much? I decided to surprise mom at the house she was working at so I could also help her out. I got to the house, this was not my first time coming here to help my mom out but each time I came the size of the house never failed to surprised me I was allowed in easily and I knew just where to find my mom. I saw her cleaning the overly sized dining table "Mom" I called out "Lisa what are you doing here?" she asked." You are supposed to be in school, did anything happen?" "No" I lied "Lisa don't lie to me besides you can't be here" she knew me so well "Why can't I?" "The Adams, are having guest over for dinner and their son would be here. If you want to help you would have to put on the maids uniform" Oh. "Okay, no problem I would help out. I'll go find the clothes" I said making my way to the maids quarters. When I got there I saw Felicia. She was the first friend I made in this place "Hi Felicia" I said "I am in need of one maid's uniform" "Say no more follow me, try this one on" she said handing me a folded uniform I came out of the changing room. The uniform was too tight and my breast where suffering. It clung to my body. "I'm sorry Lisa but that's all I could find" she said sadly "It's okay I'll manage" I said with a shrug Some maids entered and started gossiping about the son of McAdams "Oh my Gosh! did you hear the son is coming? I heard he's very hot!" one of them asked "Yes! I can't wait to see him" the other replied dreamily "Carine saw him last summer and said she almost had a heart attack" "Hey! you guys keep it down," Felicia said. "Okay, you can go now" she told me I left and went in search of my mom. "Hey you get over here!" the head maid said to me "Yes ma'am" I replied "Go and clean the young masters room right now" she said in a hurry I guess she didn't notice that it was me, Lisa. I carried the cleaning equipment I needed and went to his room It was huge, very big, it had a dark theme to it but it was dusty probably from not being used for a long time. I changed the sheets , dusted, cleaned and vacuumed. When I was done I was so exhausted I stared at the king sized bed it looked so comfortable. it was even calling my name, okay I'll lay down for just 5 minutes after that I'll go back. I promised myself. I plopped myself down on the bed, "hmmm" so comfortable I slowly drifted off to sleep "Hmmmm" I yawned that was the best sleep I have had in a very long time "Where am I?" I thought. I looked at my surroundings then it all clicked "Oh no!" I checked the clock on the wall. I had slept for an hour and 40 minutes The young master would be here very soon "This way sir" I heard someone say from outside. I rushed and hid myself under the bed Someone opened the door and a young guy walked in. I couldn't really see his face but I got a perfect view of his shoes 'You can go now" he said How rude but that voice, it sounds so familiar, where have I heard it? I tried to remember He entered fully and shut the door I hope he goes and does something soon so I could sneak out but, he started removing his shirt. "You can come out now" he said. How did he know that I wa- Like he could read my mind he said "You didn't exactly do a good job of hiding yourself, the bed is rough and your cleaning equipment are still here besides I can hear you breathing" Face flushed, I cleared my throat and crawled out of my hiding spot I arranged myself and looked up about to apologize when I saw his handsome face.
