The Cold Prince

Maria's heart was pounding so hard that she could feel it in her throat as she laid her eyes upon a stranger named Asa. She had never seen her before, but her presence was enough to make Maria curious. With a voice as gentle as a feather, she asked Asa about her origin, but her response was not what she expected. "That information is confidential," Asa said sternly, leaving Maria confused and bewildered. As she watched her walk away, Maria couldn't help but see a hint of anger in her eyes. Asa was a stunningly beautiful woman whose charm and grace were so captivating that even the sun would bow down to her. Her beauty was so mesmerizing that it could make a tiger stand still. However, despite her beauty, Maria felt uneasy around her. But that uneasy feeling melted away when she saw Alexander, the Duke's second-born son, walking down the hallway. He was wearing an exquisite blue suit with sapphires that matched his ocean-blue eyes perfectly. His wavy, icy ash-gray hair was trimmed with precision, and he looked like a prince from a fairy tale book. Everyone in town referred to him as the "Icy Prince" because of his cold demeanor and perfectly crafted face. Maria stood there in awe of Alexander, even though she lived with him. She knew that he was the only man who deserved her love. As she lifted her hand to wave at him, he walked right by her without even a glance, leaving her feeling like she had been hit by a cold gust of wind. The maids in the background giggled mockingly, and their words cut her like a knife. "Even Lord Alexander doesn't pay attention to that rat," one of them sneered. "Yeah, did you see that beautiful woman she was talking to before? She was smart to just walk off," another chuckled. “She thinks she is good enough for Lord Alexander,” another voice whispered viciously. Maria struggled to hold back her tears as she listened to the poisonous words being hurled at her. Despite being perfect in the eyes of those around her, she had always felt the sting of their criticism. no one could be truly likable without flaws, it seemed like everyone else understood that. As Alexander disappeared into the vast hallway, Maria followed him, determined to find solace in the unfamiliar surroundings of the Duke's house. Though she had been forbidden from entering this area, she refused to let that stop her. As she walked, she couldn't help but marvel at the sheer size of the building - it was like a maze, and without a map, she knew she could easily get lost. But still, she pushed on, driven by a determination she had never felt before. Finally, after what felt like hours of wandering, she found the room Alexander had disappeared into. As she peered inside, a single tear slipped down her cheek and fell to the ground.
