4 - Zen

I did not in any way shape or form want to be here but I did after all promise Charlotte that I would come out to this stupid bachelorette party that she so desperately wanted to have. It was being held at none other than the notorious Succubus Desires Strip Club. Or whatever it was called, I was fairly certain that was the name of it. Why the hell my coven sister wanted to have her bachelorette party at a strip club though was way beyond me. “Hey, cheer up Zen, life doesn’t have to revolve around the hunters you know.” Karen suddenly said to me, pulling me from my thoughts. I merely looked at her and forced a smile on my face as I sipped on my margarita. I could've said a lot of things to her right then but I was trying my hardest to be as nice as possible tonight. I didn't want to ruin anything for Charlotte. “Oh! Let’s play a game!” One of the girls said excitedly. “No thanks.” I replied, "You guys can but I'd rather not." “Oh, well thanks for volunteering Zen! So, the way it goes is we choose a guy, and you have to successfully get his number or give him your number.” “Yeaaaah hard pass. I don’t date others.” I rolled my eyes. “It’s just for fun.” “Plus wasn’t Satoshi a panther?” Karen said, I could tell she was already drunk with how butchered her words were coming out. If I hadn't known exactly what it was that she was asking, her words would've done nothing but confuse me. I stayed calm though, looking between the girls that sat in front of me. This was becoming something I didn't want anything to do with at this point. “Exactly.” I said simply and then took another sip of my drink, ”He still is so you see why I now don’t date outside of witches and warlocks.” “Come on, Zen...for me. You don’t want to disappoint the bride. Do you?” Charlotte pouted, staring at me. “What about him?” Karen had already seemed to find a guy as she scoped the crowd. Looking to where she had been pointing I stared at the dark haired man who had just sat himself down at the bar as she asked. The minute I saw him though, I felt my heart starting to race and frowned due to it. It was probably the stress of this situation more than anything. I didn't want to upset or disappoint Charlotte but I also didn't want to be off doing something like this either. What if something bad happened? I was terrible at talking to men and the last time I did I wound up finding that I liked the guy just for him to leave me. “Fine. I give him my number and that’s it right? I mean all these girls are naked or almost there, this should be a piece of cake.” I snorted, setting my drink down on the counter. “He’ll probably think you’re a stripper.” Karen said in a teasing manner to me. I narrowed my eyes at her. God I hated her. Standing up quickly, I stared towards the man then back to my drink. Picking the margarita back up, I downed it in one gulp and nodded my head. Fine, they wanted me to do this? I was going to do it right. Fixing my outfit, I smoothed it out and readjusted it in a few places to let there be more skin exposed. Running my fingers through my dark hair I breathed in and started walking towards him, swaying my hips with each and every step I took. Men had never been a problem for me, I could get them in my bed easily. So he probably wouldn't be much of a challenge himself either. I was already looking forward to this. Just to prove to Karen that I could do it and I could do it well. I watched as he spoke with the bartender who looked all too seriously as she spoke back to him, though her eyes ended up moving towards me and I could see the almost rainbow coloration filtering through them before they turned blue and stayed that way. I almost wondered what she was. Jerking her head towards me, using her chin to almost point she quickly turned away, her colorful hair fanning out around her head as she went to the other end of the bar, speaking with a customer there. He shifted, just slightly, looking towards me before back to the bar. Sh*t, ok. It'd been a while since I did this. The only two guys I ever really flirted with seriously alone gave my number to were gone, others were either to get information from them or kill them. Using my magic I created a napkin and wrote 'Call me, you're cute.' on it along with my phone number. I hadn't exactly been paying too much attention to where I was walking as I did it though, almost bumping into the man's back. Stepping to the side, I glanced over at him. Ok, so far nothing. No opening lines from him. Nothing like 'hey hot stuff' or 'looking good shorty.' but he didn't exactly seem like the kind of guy that spoke like that either. Wait, how would I even know what kind of a guy he seemed like? What was wrong with me. "Pardon me, um... have you... Where did the bartender go? I need a refill on my drink." I said simply, just trying to get his attention. Sh*t, now I felt extremely nervous. His eyes slowly turned towards me, a brow lifting on his face. Damn, he wasn't that bad looking at all actually, now that I was getting a good look at him. He lifted his hand, a shot firmly gripped in it as he used his middle finger to point towards the girl with the colorful hair. Throwing the shot back he set the glass back down on the counter and turned so that he was facing me entirely now. "Dal's got an entire horde down there but I can always call Pyro if you need something right now." He said, his voice sending a chill up my spine. I couldn't help but stare at his eyes, they seemed so sad, but he was good at masking it as he spoke. "Or if you need her, I can always call her back up here?" "Oh, no that's fine." I said instead. He paused, seeming to take me in before he sighed, sliding a drink towards me. I didn't want to seem rude and took a sip of it almost gagging at the taste. He laughed a little and stood up, hopping onto the bar and sliding himself onto the other side of it. "Here, let me make you one." He said and started pulling out bottles and cans. Setting a glass down he started mixing things together. Glancing down the bar I saw the colorful haired girl, glaring down towards him instead as he slid a drink towards me. The newer drink was prettier than the first one he'd given me which was probably like some sort of whiskey or rum. I'd never been a fan of either one. Taking a sip of the mixed drink though, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't horrible. Looking towards the man, I tilted my head. He was quiet. I literally hand nothing to go off of here with this. Mentally I mumbled some latin to see if I could manage to get a read on his feelings and though he was sharing his drinks with me I still just didn't know what to make of him. Not that it mattered though because my spell came flying back at me instantly causing me to spill the drink that he'd so graciously just given me all over my skirt and top. "Sh*t!" I snapped; I was so damn clumsy. I was clearly around that damn Vincenzo witch way too much, already.
