Steev's POV:
I reached my place and I got down from the bus. I had to walk for 2 minutes from the bus stand to our room. After 2 minutes I reached our room. I opened the lock and entered. John’s time to reach back was 5 PM. So until he comes back let me fresh up and prepare lunch I thought. I took a shower and then started preparing lunch. I prepared rice and dal. As I was very hungry as soon as I prepared the lunch and I sat and had it. It was 3PM already. There was still 2 more hours for John to come so I thought of taking a nap. So I slept. I suddenly heard bell ringing. I got up quickly and opened the door. As soon as he entered the first thing I told him was ,“Hey John do you think Shika might be married?”. “Are you gone crazy? At least for the time being leave about that and tell me about your today’s interview”, he replied in a rough way.
“I will tell you about that but first please answer my question John… Please…”, I begged him.
“Okay.. Okay.. now listen you foolish boy, If she was married she would not be travelling alone that day. She would be with her husband right but she was with her driver. However she would take her husband’s matter while you met or at least in phone call. This was the only way I could explain and console you boy. Please stop having negative thoughts. If it is meant for you, you will get it. If it isn’t for you then there is no point in running behind it. For now concentrate on your job now. Hope you understood”, he explained me. I was a bit relaxed after listening to him. “Okay now tell me what happened today”, he asked. I started narrating him each and everything that happened today in detail.
“Oh that’s good. Don’t worry I am sure you will get this job”, he said. “Thanks man”, I replied. John was very important part of my life. He used to guide me like my mother and help me like my brother and he was my best friend too. So I used to trust him blindly. If I was in any confusion or trouble John would give me a quick solution and bring me out of that problem.
After we spoke to each other for few minutes John went to take shower and meanwhile I went to kitchen to prepare tea for both of us. As he came out of shower my tea was ready. “Wow! Thanks for the tea”, he said. “Come on let’s have it”, I replied. We both sat together and had our tea. The tea was really undoubtedly very tasty. After having our tea John said, “Shall we go for a walk?”. “Yes sure. Come on”, I replied. So we locked our room and left for a walk. There was a beautiful river in that area so we planned to go there. There was a park in front of the river and lot of people used to come there for walk or for exercise. Some used to sit there and relax and the children would be playing. It was very beautiful place indeed. We reached the park. We went and sat down in a bench. “Steev.. what made you think that way about Shika?”, John asked. “I don’t know buddy. Some weird thoughts”, I replied. “I have two points in my mind”, John said. “Tell me.. what’s that?”, I asked. “Listen first of all you should stop thinking negative always. Try to stay positive most of the time. It will make your life easier”, John said. “Okay John I will try to follow it”, I replied. “Okay good. The second point is a question. Shall I ask?”, John asked. “Yes of course you can ask”, I replied.
“Are you in love with Shika?”, he asked. I was paused for a moment. I was asking this question to myself the previous day and now John too asked me the same question, I thought.
