Chapter - 117 - Mixture of Sadness And Happiness

Steev's POV :

Sophia and I both went downstairs towards the cafe ( canteen ) to have our lunch. We both reached the cafe and found a table and two chairs and settled down quickly. Sophia took the tiffin out of her bag. There was two tiffin boxes with her. One for her and one for me. " Sophia can I ask you something? " , I said. " Yes Steev tell me what is it. " , she said. " May I know why didn't you come today morning near my house? " , I asked. Sophia thinks for a while. And then replied, " umm.. did I tell you that I would be coming? " , she asked. " You had said that see you tomorrow. So I thought you would be coming there and we would be coming to office together like yesterday. " , I said. " No Steev I did not say mean that at all. Yes I had said like that but I mean see you in the office. " , she said. " Are you sure ? " , I asked. " Yes ofcourse what is this silly question. " , she said. But the way Sophia was talking had a drastic change in her. She was not giving me an eye contact, she was a bit shivering while I was asking her questions and she was not even confidence enough to answer me. By looking at all those changes I identified that there must be something really fishy going on. I had to find that out at any cost I thought. " By the way you told me you will tell me everything during lunch hour right, so could you please tell me what is it ? " , I asked. " Now I am really very hungry, so let's have the lunch first and then talk , is it okay ? " , she said. " Yes sure. " , I replied. She was not at all ready to talk anything. She was trying to postpone the topic I felt. Anyways I also thought that may be she was really hungry that is why she was doing like that. Entire lunch break passed and Sophia did not even speak to me. When there was last five minutes remaining for the lunch to get over she completed her lunch. She was eating really very slow. Again I felt she was doing so because she wanted to avoid the conversations. Her behaviour was really killing me with suspense. After all I too was a human being and not an robot to keep infinite patients in me. I decided one last time I will be trying to ask her on polite manner that was after the work at 5:00 p m. Even after asking that time if she doesn't answer then I really did not know what I was going to do. With a utter silence we both walked upstairs towards the floor. The previous day we were walking woke having some conversations but that day there was zero conversation between us. I did not care after that, I too directly went towards the entrance of the floor and straight away went to my cubical and sat down. I did not look at her face at all. I thought I too had my own self respect and I should not lose it. The lunch break was over and the trainer once again came to continue the training. " Hello everyone are you all back with full of energy to continue with the training? " , he asked. " Yes sir. " , the crowd replied. " That's great, now let up continue with our work. " , he said. The trainer began his training. Once again I concentrated on my work and nothing else. Hours and hours passed once again. The time was 3:00 p m. The trainer gave us ten minutes of break as we all were working too hard and we all were exhausted. " I will be giving you all ten minutes of break. Take a bit of rest and then let us continue with the work. " , he said. " Thank you sir. " , the crowd replied. During the break time when I looked at Sophia she was on her own world. She was not at all bothering me. I too did not go to distrub her. The break was over and the trainer was back again. And the training began. I could see that Sophia was talking to other colleagues properly and normally. I realised that the changes in her behaviour was only towards me and not with others. I was totally confused. I was waiting for the office work to get over. Once again hours and hours passed and finally the time was 5 p m. The training was over and the trainer also left from there. I thought Sophia was cooking with me while going home. But I saw that suddenly she got up from her place and started walking towards the exit of the floor. I too went behind her. I went behind her till the main gate of the office. I was calling her name but she was not even turning back and looking at me. I was sure she was able to hear whatever I was saying but she acted as if she was unable to hear me at all. I saw that she was walking towards the auto stand. I thought I had to run quickly because she might sit in the auto and go. I ran and went behind her to stop her. But by the time I went there she already climbed the auto and went. She didn't even bother about me. She heard me calling her name but still she did not care. It was really a big shock for me. I was really too upset. I had considered her as my good friend and a sister but she considered me as a stranger I felt. I decided I had to speak with her in order to clear the matter but I was unaware that how I could meet her. But what would I do by standing there outside all alone, that's why I too climbed a auto and sat. I was going back to my room. I was thinking I had to share all these matters to John and he only would provide me some solution. I was experiencing such behaviour by some for the first time. That day I was travelling all alone. By that time suddenly I remembered that Shika had told me she was coming to pick me up. " Oh my God what did I do " , I said to myself. It was not even a minute I had climbed the auto, I was near the office itself so I decided to quickly get down from the auto and stand near my office gate itself. " Excuse me sir , please stop the auto, the place where I was going is cancelled by me. " , I told the auto driver some random reason. The auto driver stops the auto. " If you had to cancel couldn't you cancel in the beginning. Why did u waste my time . " , he replied. " I am really very sorry sir. " , o replied and got down from the auto. I took some money to give him but he refused. " No no I do not want money. It's okay. " , he said and left from there. I then walked back towards my office gate and stood. Thankfully Shika had not yet reached. I did not want to hurt her by making her wait. I stood there for two minutes and then I could see a car coming towards me. I realised that it was Shika. She stopped the car in front of me. The window was open, she looked at me and said, " Hey Steev, come. " , " Yes Shika. , " , I replied and climbed the car and sat. " Good evening Shika. " , I said. " Very good evening Steev. " , she replied. I could see that Shika was looking very happy and excited. She was smiling and talking to me with lot of excitement. I was happy to see her excitement. And then she drove the car and started going towards home. " Steev, how was your day today ? " , she asked. " My day was okay. " , I replied. " Okay, I took a nice nap and I am feeling really happy today. " , she said. " That's good to know. " , I replied. I thought she was very happy because she had just told me that she had taken a nap and she was feeling really fresh and happy. When I looked at Shika's happy face, I too felt very happy. I forgot all most all of my tension. " Steev are you hungry ? " , she asked. " umm.. to be honest yes. " , I said. " Great! then shall we go somewhere to have some yummy food? " , she asked. Why would I miss a chance to go out with Shika, so quickly I agreed to her. " Yes Shika surely let's go somewhere. " , I replied. " But where? " , she said. " Here ten minutes away there is a place, I never visited but have seen it many times, so shall we go over there? " , asked. " Yes Steev as you say. Done let's go there only. " , she replied. And then we started moving towards our destination. I could see that there was sudden changes happening in Shika's behaviour. She had become too close to me. She was really attached to me I felt. I always wanted her to be my closet person in my life but that time the happiness which she had was telling me there that there was something there. But I never doubted on Shika's love or kind behaviour towards me. I always knew that it was really very pure. After ten minutes I could see that were had reached that place. " Shika, we have reached the place. Look at your left side. " , I said. " Oh Yes Steev, and this place looks really nice. I am sure the food also might be very tasty. " , she replied. " Yes I too think the same. " , I replied. Shika Parked the car and then we both went to the restaurant to have food. I was actually really very hungry. We went there and sat. There was a menu kept on the table. We started reading the menu so that we could order something. " Shika what would you like to have? " , I asked. " Umm.. I am thinking of this burger. " , she said. " That's nice, I was thinking of this noodles. " , I replied. " Yes done. let's order two burgers and two plates of noodles. " , she said. " Are you sure we can finish all of them! ? " , I asked. " no no wait let's order four burgers and four plates of noodles. " , she said. " Shika, what is this? I did not mean that it was not enough for me I was saying it was too much for us. " , I said. " No Steev the two extra plates which I said was for John and my mother. Let's take those as parcel. And we both can finish the burger and noodles don't worry, however we are too hungry. " , she said. " Wow that's great thought Shika, I am really impressed. You thought of mom and John too. I am really happy. " , I replied. " Yes Steev, I never forget my family and friends. They are everything to me. " , she replied. " That's so sweet of you Shika. " , I replied. " Thank you Steev. " , she responded. We went and gave the order of the food and then sat. I was getting a homily feeling when I was with Shika.
