“Now what’s this about?” it was now lunch time in my new school. The weekends were pretty darn short.
“Why sit with those losers?” Gage eyed the table where Ford, Lewis and Zeth were seated, laughing so care freely as they chatted and ate at the same time.
“Does it matter?” I rolled my eyes.
“You’re sitting here with us from now on…” Gage decided by himself.
I eyed Jagger, waiting for him to disapprove.
“I don’t mind. There’s only the two of us in the table anyway so it’s very spacious.” I shot him a ‘what the hell’ look and with that, he only smirked back.
That’s weird. Maybe Gage told him about me?
“You…” I started but got cut off by Gage’s quick response,
“I didn’t. Just told him to go easy on you and try to become friends…” He has to have some kind of hidden motive or whatsoever!
“Um…” I started again.
“How about we start over and get to know each other? Gage never really takes an interest in someone who’s not worth it so perhaps you’re different. Oh, I know… let’s scrub each other’s back this evening to make that homo Prince jealous or something!” It’s like a light bulb just went on in his head for that not so brilliant idea of his.
Naked bodies, huh? I refuse to touch a boy.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Jagger. Maybe some other time? I’ll come by your room tonight so that the three of us can gang up to torment Prince.” Gage suggested.
Was he just helping me slip out of his best friend’s schemes like us taking a bath together?
“Greetings, sweetie! I thought I heard my name…” Prince came to our table, his gaze locked on mine like it was just the two of us in the cafeteria.
“Scram, Prince Charming. Adams is our friend now.” Jagger looked rather happy.
“Now why would you choose these scumbags for a royalty like me?” Prince’s eyes were like magnets, I don’t know how he does it but it actually works.
I have got to try this kind of technique to pick up girls next time!
“Prince, we need to talk.” I finally stood up then grabbed the guy close behind me to a corner.
“Hey, what kind of trick are you trying to pull? The flirty look is kind of working…” I asked straight to the point out of my curiosity.
“It’s called the ‘looking at no one but you’ look and it’s especially for you, Brooke. I’m being sincere here.” He pouted.
“Right…” was all I could say to that.
