“They were not in the car. Whoever did this must have taken them,” Ricardo said and Luca stood up immediately and went after the police officers. “Where are you going?” his brother called after him but he ignored him. The police officers were just getting into their car when he made it out of the hospital and called out to them. The parking lot was sprinkled with people coming out of the hospital. Some passers-by noticed him and stopped to watch. In his periphery, he caught a news van idling away a few meters from where he stood. With the crowd he was gathering, it wouldn’t take long for them to notice him too, that is if they weren’t there for him.
