Gabriel entwined his hand with Amanda’s and opened the door. They both stepped out into the little corridor leading to the living room. She could hear the sound of a cartoon playing on TV. Her hands itched to go get her son but she stayed put and followed Gabriel at his pace, the only way to get out of here was by cooperating and when he wasn’t looking they could make their escape. They entered the living room and truly, Alex was in front of the TV watching Spongebob. She moved to get him and Gabriel dragged her back by the hand. “Not so fast,” he whispered, “Stay a little longer with me. I just got you back,” he pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her waist.
