Back in his seat, Barry’s mind was whirling. He’d had some success with Robert, but couldn’t remember ever winning two awards at the same ceremony. Despite himself, Barry sent up a quick prayer for a third trophy. But two more awards in which they were nominated went to other developers.
“Almost over, people,” the MC said. “Then you can all go and drink the bar dry or whatever else you do to celebrate or commiserate.”
There were a few chuckles from the audience, but Barry could tell they, like him, had already had enough.
“Next is the award for Best Mobile Game. And the nominees are…” He read off the names, Ranch-O-Rama midway through.
