Jimmy and Jake were surprisingly quiet on the short tube ride back to the hotel. Barry figured they were as knackered as he was. They walked into the lobby, nodding at the young receptionist as they passed her desk. “Did you want to go for a beer?” Barry asked when they were approaching the entrance to the bar. His plans for the evenings were simple and romantic—a drink, something to eat, then lots of cuddling with his cowboys. “Maybe later,” Jake said quietly. “You okay?” Barry asked. “Just tired, I guess,” Jimmy said. Barry found it fascinating how sometimes his men seemed to be able to think and speak as one person. The ride up in the lift was made in silence. Barry wanted to say something…anything to liven things up, but couldn’t think of anything. They walked down the corridor
