Attacked

Intently, Afa gazes into Ada’s eyes with his arms folded and his face frowned.  “Come on brother, stop looking at me in that manner,” Ada said looking away.  “My love life is no concern of yours,” Afa said. Turning to face Kay who have reluctantly stayed back even after the king asked her to leave, “Don’t push me to hate you,” he said.  “The love we shared together, have you forgotten all that?” Kay cried out with tears rolling down her cheek. “I love you and I still do,” she added.  “Then if you do, don’t get involved with Eva!” King Afa laments and then walks out on them angrily. Walking down the stairs of the palace, he called out one of the imperial guards who was girth about with a golden girdle around his waist. And a sword strap around his waist. In his left hand was a long spear. On hearing the King’s call, he quickly ran to meet with the king. “Long live the King,” he said taking a longbow. “Ready my horse,” said Afa with his eyes fixed on the guard. “I have someone to find,” he added.  “As it pleases the king,” he replied lifting his head, he made his way to the Royal Mews. Not quite long, the imperial guard led a white horse out. He steadies the horse before the king. Hastily, King Afa mounted on the horse and charges towards the gate. On seeing the king riding furiously towards the gate, one of the guards on the tower yelled to his fellow guard at the foot of the watchtower, “Lift the gate for the king!” The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. Riding towards the woods in the dark, he could hear the spook sound of the forest, the wind whispering in the leaves. Galloping down the woods on his horseback, he started hearing a scream of a woman who seems to be moaning in agony. He did not disregard the screams but swiftly turned towards the direction where the screams were coming from. With no idea of what he might face, he slowly mounts down from his horse, drawing out his sword he fixes his eyes towards an oak tree where the scream was coming from. “Is anyone there?” he asked as he positioned his sword. “Oh no!” he exclaimed seeing a bobcat jump down from the oak tree. Bobcats, sometimes called wildcats, are roughly twice as big as the average housecat. The bobcat has long legs, large paws, and tufted ears. It was brownish red with a white underbelly and a short black-tipped tail. Bobcat screams are said to sound like a woman screaming. In addition to screaming, bobcats can hiss, growl, snarl, yowl, and meow like a cat. Bobcat attacks on humans are unlikely, as they are timid and solitary animals that do not typically initiate contact with people. However, the pests are still dangerous. Since bobcats have the speed, claws, and teeth to take down much larger animals, people should avoid them. Bobcats are a rarely seen animal, but that doesn't mean they aren't around. They can weigh a lot which makes them very dangerous to humans as well as pets. Bobcats establish and defend a territory and will attack if approached by humans, especially if they are defending young. Turning around to head back to his horse, King Afa caught a glimpse of a shadowy figure standing next to his horse. The shadowy figure quickly slammed the horse towards the oak tree. “Oh no!” he cried out diving out from the oak tree to avoid being hit by the horse. Picking up himself, the shadowy moved so fast jumping into a fig tree. Fear gripped him that his words were buried inside his thought. It looks as if he was dreaming but the fact remains, he must face the reality. He slowly turned around, but the bobcat was gone too. Moving towards his horse, he found the horse dead. He was lost in his thought that he feared for his life. But the hope of seeing Eva quickened him to action. Positioning his sword, he started making his way to the fig tree. “Show your arse face!” Afa yelled positioning his sword. His feet were unstable, shaking rapidly but he never wanted to give in to fear. He embraced himself like a man but some part of him was still terrified. On getting close to the fig tree, the shadowy figure pounced itself on him from fig tree. Stretching out his hand to pick his sword when he was pounced at, the shadowy figure mounted on him threw punches at him. The eyes of the shadowy figure glowed red. Opening its mouth wide against King Afa, the shadowy figure saw a torch of flame from afar. With a loud purring sound, it flew up to the tree and was seen no more. “Help! Help me!” Please help me!” King Afa cried out. “Is someone there? Help me please!” he added desperately. He was still lying on the ground losing his breath. The flaming torch bearer approaches. He was an old man with a long white beard and flowing long white hair resting on his shoulder. He found King Afa, lying on the ground. “Oh no!” he said as he quickly reached out to the King. “Stay with me,” he said placing his hand around the neck of the king. Slowly the king’s eyes began to close, “No! No! No!” the old man cried out. “You have to stay with me,” he said.
