Love Interference

1758 Words
"I can't believe what my eyes just saw now," Kay cried out in total disappointment as she fixes her eyes on King Afa. She has been the only one believed to be a lady after the king's heart. She has boasted of it on several occasions and she believed without a doubt that no one can compete with her for the king. But she's disappointed by seeing a maiden with the king. Of all the noble ladies she thought would compete with her for the king, the king went so low in going after a palace maiden.  "You are now bedding a palace maid, huh? Or perhaps should I say a palace w***e?" Kay said with a mean look. She was totally disappointed with what she just walked into. She can't believe her eyes but the truth is what she saw is real and not an illusion. The king was about to kiss a palace maiden before she walked in and interrupted the moment.  "Watch your mouth, I am still your king." "What are you still doing here? Will you get your filthy arse out of here w***e!" Kay rashes at Eva. Eva was spellbound and as she was about to leave, King Afa held her back, "She's going nowhere!" "Sorry my king but I have to go now to attend to my duties," said Eva with a low bow to the king. She never wants to cross paths with Kay even though she's aware that Kay has been seeing the king. But the truth be told, Eva is just a palace maiden that crushes on the king from afar. She has wondered if the king will ever notice how rude and annoying Kay could be. Some time ago, Kay landed a slap on her for mistakenly pouring her water she was taken to the princess. This act alone made Eva hate Kay and now she's standing in the same chamber with her because of the king.   "You heard her, she is a palace maid and she needs to return to her duties," said Kay with a frowned face.  "Watch your mouth! Don't let me lose my temper." King Afa's fingers pointed at Kay. He gave her a one-sided gaze that could possibly mean one thing, 'don't overstep your boundaries.'  "I can't stay here and watch you talk to me in such a manner in front of a common maid," Kay said as she rudely walks out from Afa's chamber. "My king, I think I have to go now," Eva said expressing fear.  "Why are you so worried about what just happened?" King Afa asked with curiosity as he held her hand.  "I don't know but I think I have to return to my duties," she replied as she gently pulls away from King Afa. ...Palace Kitchen... On seeing Eva, the chief maiden hastily asked, "Where have you been?"  She has been waiting for Eva to come back and finish her task although she was the one that told her the king wishes to speak to her at once. "I was attending to the king," Eva replied.  She acted as if she has forgotten she was the one that passed the king's message to her. She gave her a weird look. "There are other maidens who can do that besides you."  "You are the one that the king sent to call me and don't forget the king's matter is urgent!" Eva replied. ...Ada's Chamber... Slamming open the door of Ada's chamber, Kay angrily walks in with her eyes fixed on Ada, "Since when have you known?" Kay asked in a mean tone.  "Known what?" Ada replied feeling lost.  "That your brother has been banging a palace maid!" Kay replied as she suddenly breaks down in tears.  "What!" Ada exclaimed in surprise. "And who will that maiden be?" Ada draws closer to Kay to console her.  "I don't know her by name but why would your brother do this to me?" said Kay as she wept. ...Hours Later... "Brother, we need to talk!" Ada said as she approaches King Afa.  "I am busy, sister," Afa replied as he walks down the stairs.   Ada blocked King Afa."A king shouldn't be too busy that he can't attend to his sister."  "Do you realize you are blocking your King," Afa said with his eyes fixed on Ada.  "Of course I know your highness," Ada replied with a low bow. "But we need to talk your highness," she added with another low bow.  King Afa sensed that the conversation is about Kay and he's doing anything he could to avoid the conversation. But since his sister blocked him and insisted on talking, he had no choice but to give in. Although he never liked to talk about what happened. "If it's about Kay, I am not talking about her."   "Oh king, may you live long!" Ada said taking a low bow. "It will be considered wise of the king if he is merciful to hear his sister out."  "Of course, go on and speak," Afa replied folding his arms.  "Your subjects will consider you weak when you have a maid as your w***e," Ada said. On hearing this, Afa was raged as he glares at Ada saying, "Eva is not a w***e and when next that word comes from your mouth, I will not treat you like a sister!"  He had heard Kay call Eva a w***e and that hurts him like a dagger pierced through his heart. He then gave his sister a close eye gaze and yelled in anger, "Is Kay feeding you with lies that she found me bedding Eva huh?"  "Your highness, don't be too loud in other not to draw attention to us," Ada said.  "For years, you have trusted me as a brother, is now time you trust me as your king!" Afa said as he angrily walks out on Ada. ...Ada's Chamber... "How did it go with your brother?" Kay asked on seeing Ada walk into her chamber.  "I think we should talk some other thing. I can't interfere with my brother's relationship life or even s*x life," Ada replied.  This was the last response Kay expected of her friend Ada. She thought she would come back with something positive rather than what she just said to her. "What are we friends for?" Kay replied with a sad look and then continued, "I don't want to lose your brother. You know I truly love him and wish to be by him always."  She spoke in a sad tone than Ada felt for her. She doesn't want to anger her brother and at the same time, she doesn't want to lose her friend. "Of course I know that," Ada replied.  "Then help me out."  "What would you want me to do?" Ada asked sternly. ...Maidens' Quarters... For the first time in his entire life, King Afa walked into the maidens' quarters. He wanted to see Eva and know how she's holding up after the drama that took place in his chamber. He blamed himself for what happened. 'Perhaps I should have locked up the door as soon as she walked into my chamber.' His thoughts seem to be true but the mistake has happened and now he has to visit Eva and see how she was holding up.  The chief maiden on seeing King Afa quickly rushed out as she took a bow before the King, "Greetings your highness! What brings you to our quarters?"   "I am here to have a word with Eva," King Afa replied.  "I am sorry your highness, she no longer works as a maiden in your palace," she replied with a low bow. "Your sister, Princess Ada relieved of her duties today her today and she left a while ago!" she added.  On hearing this, King Afa was raged as he tore his robe in anger. The chief palace maiden was afraid of the king and thought he would demand her head on a platter. She opened her mouth and spoke in a quivering voice. "If it may please my king, I can send for her to return to your service."   "You don't need to bother yourself, I will do that myself," King Afa replied as he angrily walks out. ...At Ada's chamber... "I am still worried and I don't know if sending her out of the palace is enough," Kay said as she glances at Ada.  "With her gone, my brother will come back to you," Ada replied with certainty.   "Killing her would have been the best!" said Kay.  "What!" Ada exclaimed in shock.  She has never thought of this and there's no way she's will kill for her friend. Kay on several times has shown how ruthless she can be that made the late king threaten her. The late king knew that his son will eventually end up marrying her if he becomes king and such would be a disaster for the entire kingdom of Maxis.  "You want to kill because of love?" Ada asked as she gazes at her friend in total disappointment.  "That would have been the best," Kay replied with evil in her eyes. "I will not kill for you because you are my friend. That's will never happen! I repeat that will never happen," Ada replied. She was truly disappointed with Kay for making such a suggestion. She was just trying to help her friend out but she wants more. She wants blood and nothing more. Is the king worth all this? Why is Kay so ruthless without sympathy just to have the king and eventually end up becoming the new queen of Maxis? As they were still debating on this, King Afa furiously slammed open the door of Ada's chamber. Glaring at Kay, she ordered her to leave at once, "Brother, you have really changed your attitude towards her why?" Ada asked.   In as much as Kay is demanding Eva's blood, Ada still respected their friendship and spoke in her favor. She believed what her brother did to Kay wasn't right and the best way to fix it was to send Eva away. "When I said we can take care of this kingdom together, I never meant you should interfere with my love life or relieve a maiden my heart beats for from her duties because of my desires for her," Afa said.  "But you barely know her brother," Ada replied.  "I forbid you from interfering in my love life," Afa yelled.  "What about Kay, will you not marry her again?" Ada asked with curiosity.
