Chapter 11-Last Week of Summer Part 3

Making their way through the woods seeing all sorts of wildlife and stopping to take selfies here and there, "It's so beautiful out here" Emilia says walking next to Michael as she looks around at the wonders of nature. Michael's leading the hike with Emilia by his side, Robert and Kim are right behind them, Emmett and Rachel are right behind Robert and Kim, Darren and Sarah are at the very back.

"So how far is this lake?" Emmett asks Michael as they make their way down a dirt pathway.

"About another three quarters mile" Michael replies. "My grandfather and I used to walk to the lake and go fishing whenever we came up here" he said with a smile remembering the memories with his late grandfather.

"Did you guys ever catch anything?" Darren asked.

"Sometimes, but not always" he said, "I think my grandmother was happy when we didn't" he said with a smile.

"She hated fish?" Darren asked.

"She loved fish, she just hated cleaning them" Michael chuckled remembering his grandmother.

They continued their hike talking and laughing the whole way, Michael stopped suddenly then held up his hand for everyone to stop. "What is it?" Emilia whispered, Michael pointed to a group of deer grazing just ahead of them. Everyone gently moved next to Michael to get a better look at the deer.

"Wow" Rachel whispered as she looked at the deer in awe, "they're beautiful" her eyes widen in amazement.

Emmett quickly took a picture, "I'll send you guys the picture later" he said putting his phone back in his pocket, everyone nodded. They continued on their hike until they finally reached a clearing , they stepped out of the trees into a sandy opening. There was a small dock leading out to the water with a boat tied to a post, the sandy ground spread out for a mile and the water was almost crystal clear.

"OMG" Emilia gasped, "it's beautiful" she said with wide eyes.

Michael looked at her and smiled, "Okay let's set up camp" he said to the guys. The guys went to work setting up the tents, the girls go about looking for stones to make a firepit ring. "The tents are up" Michael rejoices as he walks over to Emilia wrapping his arms around her waist. "Wanna go with me to get some firewood?" he asks her, she turns around to look at him wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Not on your life" she leaned in and whispers in his ear.

"Hey Emmett let's go get some firewood" Michael calls to Emmett without looking away from Emilia, he puts his forehead against hers. "I love you" he kisses her gently on the lips then walked away with Emmett into the woods.

Emilia's P.O.V

I watched Michael walk into the woods with Emmett, I bite my bottom lip trying to calm my nerves. Why do I let him get to me, I need to learn to control myself around him or else I might end up giving in.

"Let's go for a swim" Rachel come up to me, I turn to face her.

"Sounds good, let's go" we grab Sarah and Kim then slip off our clothes revealing our bikinis, Rachel has on a black two piece with big red dots on it. Sarah's is a pink polka-dot two piece, Kim has on a sky blue two piece with lacy trimming and mine is a purple two piece with black dots. We run into the water and start splashing around then we see Robert in his blue trunks run then jump off the dock into the water. Darren in his black trunks follows Robert off the dock in to water making a huge splash, we were having so much fun splashing each other, dunking each other under the water. Darren dunked under the water and made his way behind Sarah, suddenly she was brought up out of the water and tossed back in by Darren. I'm going to miss all this, I can't imagine having this much fun with anyone else.

Michael's P.O.V

Emmett and I walked out of the woods with enough sticks and wood for two fires, "I think we got too much" Emmett says almost tripping.

"There's no such thing as too much" I laugh at him, I hear laughing and happy screams so I look to see everyone in the water having fun. I smile as I look and see Emma swimming around trying to avoid being picked up and tossed in by Darren, I drop my pile of wood by the stoned circle ten turn to Emmett. "Race you to the water" I start taking off my pants revealing my grey trunks then run to the water.

"Hey, no fair" he dropped his pile then ran after me trying to take off his pants to reveal his red ones. I take off my shirt and toss it on the ground before jumping in the water, Emmett isn't too far behind me. I dive under the water and sneak my way towards Emma, I grab her waist as I come up behind her making her shriek.

"Damn it Michael" She shrieked as I came up out of the water, she smacked my shoulder, "you scared me" she yelled at me.

"I'm sorry baby" I say trying to hold back a laugh, I try to grab a hold of her but she pushes me away the crosses her arms over her chest.

"Don't touch me, I'm mad at you now" she glares at me then swims away.

"Come on, don't be like that" I swim after her, "I said I was sorry".

"Someone's sleep outside tonight" Darren laughs.

Emma walks out of the water and I follow her, I run up to her and grab her arm spinning her around to face me. "I'm sorry" I wrap my arms around her waist, I place my forehead against hers. "Please don't be mad, I promise I'll never do it again" I look into her beautiful grey-blue eyes, "I love you so much, I would never intentionally hurt you" I promise her nuzzling her nose with mine.

"Don't ever do anything like that again" she hisses at me poking me in the chest with her finger.

"I promise" I capture her lips with mine, the kiss started out gentle but then it became more intense as our tongues began to wrestle in her mouth. I tighten me grip on her waist pulling her closer to my chest, she wrapped her arms around my neck. I heard her moan as we kissed, I pulled out of the kiss trying to catch my breath, "We should stop" I told her breathlessly.

"You're right" she agreed catching her breath.

The moon was full and bright tonight, the air was cool and so very calm that you could hear the crickets and cicadas all around us. The fire is blazing keeping us warm as we sat around it, I look at all their faces making photographic memories for myself so I don't forget this time together. I didn't realize tears were falling down my cheeks until Michael wiped them away then pulled me closer to his body. He gave me a reassuring smile then kissed my temple, I wiped the rest of the tears away then took a deep breath and sighed.

"You okay Ems?" Darren looked at me with concern.

"I'm okay, just a little sad" I reassured him.

"Why are you sad?" Sarah asked me.

"I know why" Rachel stated looking at me, "when the week is over we all go our separate ways" she said tearing up. Emmett pulls her in to his side and kisses the top of her head.

"Oh, right" Sarah says sadly realizing she's going to be alone for the first time ever, Darren noticed her sadness and wrapped his arm around her shoulder and hugged her.

I look over at Kim and Robert, he has his arm around her shoulder as she lays her head on his shoulder. She's got tears falling down her cheeks as the rest of us, an idea comes across my mind. "I've got an idea" I said excitedly and they all look at me curiously, "What if we get together at the end of every summer and come here" I said smiling.

"All of us?" Sarah asks.

"Yes, all of us" I said, "but not just us six, Terry, Jerry, Jose, Sean and Hannah as well" I tell them.

"What about Adam" Sarah asks.

"If he wants to" I reply.

"I like the idea, I'm down for it" Darren says looking at Sarah.

"It's a plan then" Michael says with a smile then kisses my cheek, I blush the bury myself into his arms wrapping my arms around his torso.
