Chapter 26Before that got fully underway, Lillian and I decided to exchange marriage vows. We spent the month of November making plans for a two-day event. We moved into the condo at the beginning of the week before the wedding. We had to make sure things got done and services that we had ordered were prepared. Even though it was a small wedding, the logistics were overwhelming.
I have to admit that I showered Lillian with presents. I had told her I didn’t want anything but her. Then I bought her a three-carat diamond ring. I also bought her every book and movie she had ever talked about.
We had chosen the wedding rings and matching white, silk outfits. There was a last fitting and they could be picked up the middle of the week.
