Lydia's POV
The burning sensation in my legs was getting stronger. Every muscle in my body hurt. My magic drained all my energy. But I had to stay strong for myself and my mates, and for my family.
I could see through the window that darkness had fallen, the moon was shining in full splendor, low above the ground. Even the Moon Goddess was worried about what would happen tonight.
After a while, I felt the power of my mother. She was trying to communicate with me by magic. And as far as I could tell, she wasn't the only one.
A few minutes later my mother's voice reached my mind.
"Lydia, baby, are you okay? You scared us."
"Hey mom, I'm fine. I’m a little tired and exhausted. I can't keep the shield for long."
"Honey, can you hold him a little longer. We'll be there in an hour."
"Yes I could. Mom, he kidnap me to deceive you."
"I know, honey, is he do something to you?"
"No, but he's a crazy mom. He is obsessed with you, the desire for power. He decided to mate with me because my magic is stronger than yours. Then I raised my shield. It surprised him, but he didn't let himself be fooled into going through it."
"Just a little baby, your mates are here. They've located you, we're coming to save you."
"Thanks mom for bringing them."
My mom withdrew from my mind, leaving me alone with my thoughts. It seemed like hours passed when I heard the howling of wolves in the woods. I knew my family had come to save me.
I was very happy to see my mates again, but this will actually be the first time we really see each other as mates.
I remember when I first met them, we were just kids. The queen was celebrating her birthday. I was seven then. My powers awoke very early, at the age of five, which is very rare for a witch. Usually our powers awaken when we turn twelve.
When I first saw them, they were just annoying twins who were constantly hanging around me. But somehow we were still connected then, although I didn't know what that meant at the time.
When a tattoo of two wolves howling at the full moon with their names below appeared on my wrist, I knew they were destined for me.
But to be a seer, I knew I had to wait for the time written by Destiny for our first meet.
Suddenly the door slammed open and my mates rushed through them. They both went through the shield of fire as if they were going through a thick fog.
"Alex, Liam, my mates, you have come." I said and collapsed on the floor.
Liam was quick and grabbed me in his arms, the shield came down and Liam took me out of the room. Alex walked beside him as he carried me out of the castle in his arms.
When we went outside in the field around the old castle, the lifeless bodies of wolves and vampires were lying, some dark witches were dead, some were captured, and the rest of the survivors were kneeling before my mom and dad.
Theodore's lifeless body lay on the ground at the feet of my dad.
Liam gently lowered me to my feet. "Are you OK? Can you stand?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm fine now, I'm just tired and weak, I used too much magic to keep the shield strong and to keep in touch with you."
Alex walked behind me and hugged me.
"Thank heavens you're fine." He dipped his face into my neck and took a deep breath of my scent.
Then my family came to hug me, my mom, my dad, my older strong brother.
They asked me a million questions about how I was and if something bad had happened to me.
When I finally convinced them that everything was fine with me, some more people approached me. One of them even called me Luna.
"Dad", I said, "I would ride with Alex, if you don't mind."
"Of course not, babygirl."
Alex took my hand and led me to the truck, when I turned to Liam with my hand outstretched.
"Are you coming?"
A pleiad of emotions flew through his face and his eyes shone. He looked for Alex's approval and when he got it he took my hand and we got into the truck.
It was time for us to talk about everything and resolve all misunderstandings.
