The sight of her brunette hair makes me clench the leather seat of my car. It was strange how near she was yet so far. We haven't been reacquainted, not in a friendly manner at least, since she came back but I know she still remembered me in the ways that mattered. I know I do. The curve of her lips whenever she frowns. The way she liked to read mystery books like it was Chicken Soup for the Soul. Her obsession with Sour Patch candy was still there as she carried them in her purse and quietly ate them at the back of the class when she thought no one had noticed.
