Chapter 9Cade pulled up to Tess’s house at 4:00. He’d tried to let her know he was bringing company, but she had been impossible to reach all day. She stood on the front porch, dressed for a workout. Even from a distance he could see her eyes widen in surprise when she saw her grandfather’s truck pull up in her driveway.
As Cade got out of his truck, before he could close the door and go around to the other side, Sam wiggled his way out of the driver’s side door and bounded towards the front porch and Tess. He tried his best to hide that he was probably as excited as his dog was to see her.
Ed and the Trips were right behind him as he walked toward Tess.
