Episode 2: “The Water Blade’s Promise” The rooftop still smolders from battle. Enkōō struggles to breathe, shaken by the fiery voice within. Aoi warns him: he has entered his “inner world,” resonating with the Flame King’s soul. If left unchecked, he will lose himself. Aoi recalls her training at the Underwater Temple, where priests swore her to destroy the reincarnation of fire. But Enkōō defies prophecy—he controlled the flames instead of being consumed. Perhaps destiny has changed. Elsewhere, deep beneath a mountain, a cloaked figure practices with lightning. Rai Tsukikage, a silver-haired wielder of thunder, learns of Enkōō’s awakening. He smiles coldly: “Now it begins.” That night, Enkōō stares at a candle flame. It flickers blue as the fiery voice whispers, “Burning is not destruction. It is transformation.” Uneasy, he wonders if he truly is the Flame King or something else entirely. The next day, Aoi secretly hands him a forbidden book: Chronicles of the Elemental Kings. She warns him of the Guardians of Balance and the Hunters—forces already watching him. Soon after, a new transfer student arrives. Cheerful and friendly, Kaito Sōma hides a dangerous secret. That night, wind whispers: “Flame boy… come out and play.” The duel of wind and fire is about to begin.
