Dickson slams his hand on the desk. “They want 20 million Chris. Where are we going to get that kind of money from in an hour?” “I can get the money . Let’s go”, Christopher said, with no hesitation. “No, no, no. You can’t go. He said strictly for me to come alone. If you go, it’s way too risky. Dickson explained. “Is there someone else with Amelia?” He asked. “No, they didn’t say there was anyone else. He lied, knowing fully well that if he tells him that Nuella is there he will save her. Christopher signed a checkpoint, handed it over to him. “Use the money in this account. Bring my sister home! Safe. It was a pitch-dark room. Amelia and Nuella were gasping for breath. Nuella struggled desperately to break free, but it was futile. A ruthless young man. Advanced toward. Amelia, attempting to assault her. “Hey don’t touch her?” Nuella yelled. Still trying to do it again, she yelled again “Don’t touch her!”. You’re not going to get any money if she’s hurt! “Shut up! Or I’ll cut your tongue!” The ruthless yelled back.” Well, I could touch you and no one would care”. Coming closer to her. Nuella cried in pain. “He’s right. Nobody cares about me.” She whispered to herself, tears welling in her eyes. Christopher sat in his office, deep in thought, wondering how his sister had been kidn*pped. He glanced at the photo and noticed someone was with her. Then he spotted Nuella’s clothing beside her. Rage boiled within him. Dickson hands over the money to the ruthless man. “It’s 20 million. So you get this one. What about this other one? He inquired, gesturing toward them. “I- - I don’t know her”. He lied. “Deal. Get the f**k out.” He released Amelia, pushing her toward him. “Are you okay babe?”. He asked She nodded. “Let’s go”. Nuella felt devastated, her heart splintered like a fragile one. Crashing into the floor. “Wait.. What about Nuella?” Amelia uttered, looking back at her. Instead, Dickson dragged her out without saying a word. Both men laughed at themselves. “Now, don’t play too hard with her”. One old the other. “We need her to look good to the buyers”. Nuella gazed at him with tear-filled eyes as he advanced toward her, attempting to assault her. Suddenly, a loud noise echoed out- a gunshot. Upon seeing this, he swiftly seized Nuella by the neck, attempting to slit her throat with a knife. “I’ll kill her. Don’t come any closer”. He said in fear. “Let him go. I’m serious “. You’re always getting into trouble, Nuella”. Christopher uttered . Watching Nuella as she struggled for her life. “You got some balls coming down here alone trying to be a hero”. The man whom he was pointing a gun at said, “And who said I was alone?” He questioned. Hearing a siren outside, they all froze. The ruthless man who was attempting to kill Nuella tried to escape, giving Nuella a scar on her neck. Officers from the back held him captive. Nuella fell to the ground . “NUELLA!!” Christopher called out loudly. Nuella woke up to find herself in a hospital, puzzled about how she had gotten there. Still lost in thought. Christopher walked in , carrying a glass of water. “Mr. Robert”. She murmured, as he offered her the water to drink. “How are you feeling now?” He asked . “Just a slight headache “. “My sister said you protected her from the kidnappers. Rather bravely”. “Is that why you’re so attentive now?” Nuella questioned. Desperately glanced into his eyes. “Because I protected your sister.” “Maybe so”. He responded. “If you want to express your gratitude, then please take my father’s case.” Nuella implored. “You really choose the worst moments to make demands”. “Suit yourself “. I’ll tell Amelia everything about Dickson “. Christopher gazed deeply into her eyes, he stared at her soul without uttering a word. Suddenly, he pushed her into the bed, his hands gripping hers and pinning them above her head. “Just when I started to like you, Miss Carter”. He murmured. Good impressions really mean a lot to you?” She questioned. His fingers traced gently around her lips, tempting her with every movement.” OK, let’s talk about business.” Pulling away. Nuella didn’t find this amusing, but she remained speechless. “How kind have you been to Dickson? Four years, right?” He questioned. “Yes. Why?” Nuella looked at him suspiciously. “How often did you sleep together?” He asked again. This time with a straight face. “None”. She wondered why he was asking these questions. “What does it have to do with the business we want to do?” She thought to herself. “Look, if you take my father’s case I’ll leave the country before the wedding, and I’ll never come back”. Christopher pressed her firmly against the bed, this time even tighter. As he captured her lips in a deep passionate kiss. “Let’s save it for the proper time”. He said, pulling away. “I will take your father’s case. If we make a contract… where I own you. Every inch of you. He clarified. “You will stay away from Dickson. Say both to Amelia. You’ll move in with me so that I can make sure that you keep your promises. In my house, you will be whatever I need you to be. A servant.. Or a mistress.” Nuella, lost in thought. “This is not what I signed up for”. “Look at me”. He commanded, “Do we have a deal?” Nuella had no choice but to say yes, as this was her only chance. “Good . See you tonight. You know the address.” Christopher walked off. Christopher gazed through the glass window, waiting eagerly for Nuella to arrive. As he pondered over the perfect gift for her, he decided to call his sister for advice. “Hey Amelia, what’s a good gift idea?” “Oh my god. Please don’t tell me that Lillian is back?” “No, it’s not for her”. Christopher explained. “Then who are you trying to impress?” She questioned over the phone. “You know what? Forget I asked, he said and ended the call. “Hope you’ll be back soon?” Charlotte asked, looking at Nuella with a sympathetic expression as she packed her things into her bag. “Of course girl, sure”,, smiled, looking at her sister about to cry. “Aw baby girl don’t cry”. Nuella held her little sister, giving her a warm hug. “Don’t worry, I promised to be back. Just to get dad out of jail, that’s all. And I will send you money for your upkeep, okay?” “I will miss you sis. Don’t let them deceive you too, okay?” Charlotte advised. Nuella laughed.” I will miss you more. And no they won’t “. Charlotte watched as her sister left the house. Entering into the car Christopher had sent to pick her up. Charlotte Carter, Nuella’s little sister, was an 18-year-old college student. She was the spitting image of her sister, so much so that people often struggled to tell them apart. Except for her long, black hair, which set them apart.
