The silhouette dreams became so clear. As he opened the gate of nowhere, I realized that this place is actually too foreign. The only familiar for me is this man who’s with me right now. After a few more minutes, we’re already standing in front of a 50-floor building with alluring structure.
“I know you’re tired. Go to your unit now. I’ll fetch you later," he seriously said as he focused his melancholic eyes on mine.
Despite of all the unanswered questions in my head, I nodded and let him leave. I sighed heavily and turned around, only to find out that there were people staring at me. I was suddenly taken aback because of the attention they were giving me.
“Miss Amalia, your father is waiting at your unit,” someone said beside me.
I looked at her with so much confusion. The girl immediately bowed down when she noticed that I’m looking at her.
“I'm sorry, Miss Amalia. I didn't mean to look you in the eye." She trembled while saying those words.
My brows furrowed because of what she said. I can’t determine what’s wrong with that.
I took a step closer to her. She nudged and squirmed a bit. It’s as if she’s avoiding my gaze as well as having physical contact with me.
“Can you accompany me to my unit?“ I asked her and bit my lower lip.
I just want a little help from her. I actually don’t know where my unit is. I look stupid being lost in my own so-called-home. This is stressing me out.
"Yes?" she asked in shock.
I showed her my genuine smile and that made her caress her head a little. She was still nervous so I held her hand. I suddenly let go of it when I felt pain.
"Miss Amalia, you shouldn't touch me," she cried while trembling looking at my palm.
I turned my gaze to my palm. My eyes grew bigger when I saw some dark spots and blood. I trembled when the blood started to fall from my palm.
“What’s the commotion all about?” a raging voice suddenly interrupted.
I don’t know why I was suddenly nervous after I heard that voice. The wound on my palm is also gone. Even the dark spots are now gone. How did this happen?
I was about to say something when I saw something scarier. The woman I was talking to earlier was already floating in the air. She’s holding her neck while trying to put some air within herself. My eyes grew bigger when I saw some vines full of thorns slowly encircling her waist.
I roam my eyes around to find who’s doing it and I saw a girl leaning on the wall while doing some tricks within her hands. I found out that she was the reason for what was happening to the woman because she was the only one who was suspicious. The trick she’s doing with her hands synchronizes the movement of the vines.
“Stop it,” I shouted.
I noticed how the thorns on those vines entered the girl’s body causing her to cough with blood. The owner of the vines looked at me with cold eyes. I was about to say something again when someone entered the scene.
A man in his mid-50s appeared and showed us his assault rifles. The vines are now gone together with the girl who owned it. He’s tall with well-defined muscles and I can sense danger just by looking at him.
"Why do I have to witness this mess?" he coldly said as he stared at me.
“We’re sorry for causing a commotion here, General," someone said from behind.
I looked at the girl who suddenly barged in, only to find out that she’s the merciless girl who almost killed someone. She looked back at me with raging eyes. I can sense jealousy and hatred.
“Let’s go," he seriously told me.
I was about to ask him something but he immediately turned around and started to walk. I sighed heavily and followed him. What is this place again?
I silently followed him entered the elevator. I blinked twice when we reached the floor for just about a minute. I can’t get used to this peculiarity.
“Open your unit, Amalia,” he said
I was actually trying to figure out what was he trying to imply. Can’t he open the unit himself? It’s just a door! I almost rolled my eyes when he did not move. He waited for me so I guess, I don’t have a choice.
There’s a figure pattern engraved at the door. I unconsciously caressed it. The sniper figure suddenly moved and glowed. My eyes grew bigger again because of too much shock.
The door automatically opened revealing a pastel interior design of the unit. The man went passed through me. He languidly took a seat from one of the couches.
“Now, Amalia. Tell me why you joined the battle?” he started.
I was taken aback because of what he asked. I don’t even know why I suddenly opened my eyes in the middle of a battlefield. I looked away when he looked at me with his raging eyes.
“Sir, I don't know," I confusedly answered.
He looked at me with disbelief.
“Did you just call me sir?” He asked me again without hesitation.
Should I call him general too? I don’t even know him. He’s totally a stranger, right now. Well, everyone in this place is a stranger for me.
“I’m sorry, General.” I bowed a little to show my respect.
“Are you trying to imply some prank right now, Amalia?” he sternly said.
“No, general. I’m sorry for offending you," I calmly answered him, still bowing a little.
I heard his soft curse and that made me looked at him. He looked too stress right now. Did I just get his bad side?
“Honey, it’s me. How can you forget about your father?” he said with full of concern.
I suddenly felt something again. The familiarity is now present but I do not know where did this strange feeling came from. He’s my father?
“You’re my father?” I asked him, still unsure.
“Amalia, I’m your father. Did your sickness come back again?” he worriedly asked me.
I don’t know. I can't remember. His menacing brown eyes were intently looking at mine. His deep feelings can make my heart melt.
"Amalia, are you forgetting things again?" he added.
Does this mean, since the beginning I tend to forget things? But why? It’s not actually good to lose some memories. I think I forgot everything.
“I can't remember," I answered him with a low voice.
He looked more worried now. He came closer and hugged me tightly. I closed my eyes as I savor this moment. Why do I keep on longing for this strange treatment? I was totally lost right now. I don’t know who’s worth my trust anymore.
“That’s fine, Amalia. Your mother will help you gain your memories again," he said, still hugging me.
I nodded without saying anything. He caressed the back of my headand tightened the hug. We stayed like that for I do not know how long. All I know is that, I’m happy with his warmth. I can sense that I have never felt this care from him before.
After he left, I sighed heavily before I decided to take a shower. I saw my reflection from a mirror. I was actually wearing a black, high-waist jeans, paired with a white tank top.
I was about to ignore the rest but I noticed my glowing eyes. I blinked twice to check if I’m just hallucinating. When I opened my eyes again, it’s now back to brown.
After a couple of minutes, I decided to finally take a shower. I was too tired so after a quick shower, I indulged myself to my bed and doze off to sleep.
I was already having a good sleep when I heard the sound of the door bell. I lazily stood up and went to the door. I opened it with my eyes, still closed.
“What?” I ask.
“Change, now. You have training. How can you talk to your captain like that?” he sternly said.
I immediately opened my eyes, only to find out that Xipher is in front of me. I can smell his manly perfume with our distance. His stern appearance made me nervous. He’s intently looking at me with his serious face and raging eyes.
“Can I just skip that training?” I confusedly asked him.
“You can’t," He coldly told me.
“I don’t want to be someone like you,” I directly told him.
I know he’s smart enough to understand me. I don't want to train because they will definitely teach me to hurt and kill. He raised his brow, still looking at me intently. When he noticed that I’m totally confused, he laughed sarcastically.
“You don’t want to be like me?” he mocked me.
“Yes, you’re a killer," I confidently told him.
He smirked before leaning towards me. Our face is now an inch away from each other. I can literally hear my heart pounding so harshly.
“If I’m a killer, then how about you, Amalia?” he whispered.
“What are you talking about?” I trembled.
“You already killed thousands of people, our dearest sniper. Don’t act as if you’re innocent. You’re way more evil than me,” he coldly said before leaving me dumbfounded.
