Chapter 4: Ugly Scar

880 Words
(Zaria POV) I opened my eyes and got up from my bed. It will be a better and new day for me as I will get a few powers today because elves receive a few powers on their 10th birthday. I am also ready to receive mine because it will become easy for me to fulfill my promise with my mami, with my powers. A smile crept on my lips and I ran towards the washroom. I turned on the tap and ran a warm bath before brushing my teeth. I was more mature and responsible as compared to other children of my age, even my brother is not as responsible as I am. My parents always praised me and cherished me for different things. Whenever I show an excellent performance on the training ground, I get praise, or sometimes, they give me a prize for it. After brushing my teeth, I quickly finished my daily routine and entered in my warm bath. All the muscles of my body relaxed a bit. After spending a good time in a warm bath, I went out and washed myself before coming out of the bathroom. I chose a light green floral dress for me. Although we all had plenty of maids to help us, but I loved to be alone, so I didn’t have any maids in my room. I call them whenever I needed, but I don’t like to have an army of maids, who will follow me everywhere I go. I brushed my shoulder-length almond brown hair and wore a delicate piece of headband to hide the scar on my forehead. Nobody knew about my scar except my close relatives and a few trustworthy maids. Father used the magic and asked many sorcerers to remove it but everything failed and, in the end, I have a big ugly scar on my forehead. Father said, There are high chances that this mark will vanish when I will receive my powers. I am happy to hear this because it is better to have this mark for a few years than to have it forever. I came out of the room and headed toward the breakfast table, where my parents would be waiting for me. I quickly covered the distance and entered in the hall. “Good Morning, Mother!” “Good Morning, Father!” I greeted both of them and sat on a chair beside my mother. It was my usual spot and I feel happy to stay close to my mother. “Good Morning, Princess! Where is your brother?” He asked and I looked at my mother before answering his question. “He is late as usual, but don’t worry, I already asked a maid to wake him up and he will be here after a few minutes,” I replied before picking up a slice of apple. I loved fruits because Mami loved to grow fruits in her garden and she used to tell me how better will it would be if I added fruit to my meals. I used to ignore her advice back then, but now, I add fruit to my every meal. After a few minutes, Zurian entered in the dining hall with a sleepy face. I giggled when he stumbled a little before sitting on his chair. “Zurian! What is this? You should wake up on time because you are not an ordinary elf but a Prince. You should be responsible,” Father said to Zurian, and I looked at Zurian’s face with amusement. It was not the first time he had got these scoldings from our father, but every time, I enjoyed this wholeheartedly. He gave me a bored look before nodding and our father gestured for him to start his meal. He took a deep breath before starting his breakfast. I had already finished mine but I was waiting for him to finish as we had to go on a secret mission today. We both planned that we would go and check the abandoned coven, which was present at the border of the elf’s kingdom. We have to remain careful as there is a minute boundary line between the elf’s kingdom and another kingdom…The Vampire Kingdom. Although the place is far from the Vampire’s Palace, we can’t afford to make any single mistake. We had already informed our mother that we would spend the whole day with our friends and she didn’t say anything but happily give us permission. I also told our friends that we were going to the cemetery, so, they all agreed to cover us behind our backs. Zurian finished his meal and we both walked towards the exit door. I was feeling a different type of excitement but I also couldn’t get rid of an unknown fear...Fear of something going wrong. We came out of the Palace and a bright smile appeared on our faces.
