when Superman comes

its been about thirty minutes and im exhausting and panting and i dont think i take another step and having just got over the limping my mind now just ignoring the pain i should be faster but no i just wanna sit down and cry inhopes that when Superman comes he sees us first, the kids are tired of being strapped to me and being the one carrying them i totally understand. I hear a ping from my phone and when i go to check it there is a missed call from my dad and i realise my phone is on do not disturb. i wonder how that happened. Do not disturb her suffering.

A giggle escapes from my mouth as i think about and Maggie looks at me with a confused look.

I try calling my dad back and just two rings he answers "Hello! Lorraine!?..." my dad is pretty old and always feels the need to shout into the phone so i put him on speaker phone. "Yes dad im here...are you okay?"

"Lorraine there has been an earthquake did it reach that side are the children okay? " My dad worries a little too easy

you cough one time and he will run to the pharmacy and i really had the urge to lie to him but i knew i shouldn't so i filled him in on everything thats happened up until to this point but in this version i was fully clothed when i went to get the children. "oooh my god id tell you to wait right there but im not sure thats not a good idea so i need you keep moving though Lolo take the country route and meet me in Olivenhoutbosch in the clearings-" he starts to sob and i interrupt him " We will be fine dad i promise i will do everything in my power to get to you in one piece" i start tearing up too "okay okay start moving okay"

"okay bye dad i love you" Maggie grabs the phone "bie bie bempa" and my dad laughs and i cut the call and start looking around for a plan. My phone pings again and its a message to say a big one is coming and all of a sudden i become aware of where im standing i was on a road with a tunnel under it and start running to solid ground. Now every step i take is starting to feel like im stepping on pins and i decide to stop and take a rest or something. i couldn't put the children down not with this big one coming and something wonderful catches my eyes and i run to it like a hostage finally getting food.
