This was not the place for showing joy but i was over the moon with joy. i put on a serious face and faced the teachers "the ambulance will be here soon you might wanna go outside its not exactly safe here." they nodded at me and led the children outside, with the help of the teachers evacuating didn't take that long. Tried our best to stop the bleeding of those that looked serious. i took a much deserved deep breath in and out and headed for my kids. Maggie was on Sashas lap there wasn't a big gap age wise between them but Sasha enjoyed being motherly towards Maggie and she enjoyed being babyed. I went in for the worlds greatest hug, when they stood up at the end of it i realize Sasha had some scratches on her left leg. "is it painful" i point in the direction of her leg she shakes her head no.
"i guess you were pulled away in time"
i start thanking god in my head with the biggest smile on my face
"it was Maggie." Sasha says with her eyes glistening in the direction of Maggie and she finally burst and gave Maggie a hug and kiss on the forehead for a second everything felt normal again but i noticed Maggie's mind was just not here she probably was traumatized and hopes she's dreaming just like i do the sight was something not even i a grown ass human being could handle i cant begin to imagine how they felt .
Some of the parents were just coming in probably from their jobs, this is the only time that thats a negative is a time of emergency. i decided to leave some mothers were crying hysterically and i couldn't bare to watch. Before i left Thandi offered me a t-shirt and i accepted even though it was a few sizes too big. A few steps out the gate i see Sasha is limping i put her on my back Maggie starts crying saying she wants to be carried too.
We were a little far from the preschool gate, i take off the shirt and tear it up a bit so i can tie Sasha to me and i carried Maggie infront and off we went. A message comes in "Lolo fone" said Maggie "yeah ill check it when we get home." it was a boring walk home with a different view and i knew it'll never be the same again.
