It was past four o' clock in the morning when Myrina and her friends finally decided to stop drinking—because the bar will be closed exactly after an hour. They were all wasted and drunk—except for Nicole, who had a high alcohol tolerance, and Myrina, who refused to drink after returning to their table.
“Myrina! I’ll try to look for a cab. Can I leave these two drunklords with you?” Nicole asked while helping Georgia walk. Her left hand was around Georgia’s waist for support, while Georgia’s left arm rested on Nicole’s shoulder. “I can’t book a car kasi.”
Georgia and Trinity were both drunk as hell. They didn’t stop drinking until they were sure all the alcoholic drinks on their table were gone. They even made a scene at other people’s tables by joining in for more drinks.
“Sure! No problem, Nics,” Myrina replied, supporting Trinity. The two nodded at each other before Nicole carefully helped Georgia sit down by the roadside.
"Myrina, I'm so drunk! Thank you for helping me. Sana 'wag ka mamatay," biro ni Trinity, may malaking ngiti sa labi habang tapik-tapik ang balikat ni Myrina.
"Hey Georgia—what the hell? You're peeing!"
Myrina was shocked by what she heard from her friend. She looked over at Georgia, who was sitting down, holding her underwear—literally peeing like she was on a toilet.
"What's wrong? I can't hold it anymore, Trinity. I don't want to get a UTI!" Georgia defended herself, her eyes nearly closed from drowsiness.
"You're disgusting, beetch!" Trinity laughed, and she and Georgia burst out laughing while Myrina could only smack her own cheek in disbelief.
Thankfully, there was no one else outside. Myrina was already drowning in secondhand embarrassment—she couldn't take any more humiliation that night.
"Georgia, you can't just pull off your underwear and pee! We're in public!" Myrina scolded her friend Georgia who's pulling back her underwear.
"There's no one here, Myrina. It's just us. We all have p***y so, I don't care if you saw mine," Georgia said casually that made Trinity burst in laughing.
"Ugh! I wish Nicole would get back here as soon as possible," sumasakit ang ulo na wika ni Myrina dahil sa mga kaibigan niya.
Almost ten minutes had passed when Nicole finally came back. As she arrived, she looked at Georgia and Trinity, who were lying on the roadside, both fast asleep.
"Oh my god!" Nicole gasped, panting. "What happened to them, Myrina?"
Before answering, Myrina removed one of her earphones and looked at Nicole.
"They fell asleep because of the alcohol," Myrina said. "Anyway, where's the cab?"
"Uhm... about that," Nicole hesitated. "I couldn’t find any cab kasi."
"What?" Myrina asked in disbelief. "How come? It's already morning, Nicole. Paanong wala kang nakitang sasakyan? You were looking for ten minutes—"
"I heard from someone who lives around here that there’s a checkpoint because of the murder case that happened last night," Nicole explained. "So the police blocked the roads. We’ll have to walk about thirty minutes to get a cab. Wala ring nag-aaccept ng booking ko kasi kumalat na yung balita."
"They're scared because of the news," said Myrina, referring to the cab drivers, and Nicole nodded.
"Yes, and I’m sorry guys but… I called my boyfriend to pick me up," Nicole added awkwardly before flashing a peace sign at Myrina, who still couldn’t believe what she was hearing. "Taga-rito lang si Alex, so I called him. He’s already on his way—"
"Nicole!" Myrina shouted in frustration and disbelief.
She couldn’t believe Nicole was leaving her with their two drunk friends. Considering a murder had recently happened in the area, Myrina couldn't even guarantee she’d get out of there alive—especially with Georgia and Trinity passed out.
"Tell Alex we’re coming too."
"I can’t!" Nicole replied quickly. "His car is in the repair shop. He’s picking me up on a motorcycle—oh! He’s here!" she added excitedly as a motorcycle pulled up in front of them, with Alex on it.
No painter could capture the expression on Myrina’s face. She wanted to curse her friend, to pull her hair and slap her. The three of them had begged her to come out and join them—only to leave her with the mess.
"Myrina, text me when you all get home, okay?" Nicole said as Alex helped her put on a helmet. "I love you guys!"
And with that, the motorcycle drove away.
"f**k!” Myrina hissed, watching the motorcycle drive away. She raised her middle finger at the couple and shouted, “Damn you, Nicole!”
With an irritated look on her face, she turned to Georgia and Trinity. She couldn’t leave them alone now—especially with some people from the bar starting to come out, clearly shaken as they heard the news about the murder.
“Georgia! Trinity!” Myrina called out as she walked toward them, gently slapping their cheeks. “Nicole left us and I can’t carry you two. Gumising nga kayong dalawa riyan!” But neither of them responded.
“Damn it. Damn it. Damn it,” Myrina cursed under her breath, pacing.
She wanted to call her boyfriend, Jordan—but she stopped herself. No, she couldn’t. If she called him, Jordan would find out she went to a bar. That would spark an argument, and she couldn’t let that happen. Ayaw niyang pag-awayan nila ni Jordan ang tungkol doon, so she decided to keep it a secret.
Myrina was exhausted. She badly wanted to go home and rest. She picked up her phone and tried booking a cab, but no drivers were accepting the request.
“Gosh!” she exclaimed. “What do I do?” Myrina was helpless. She was tired, drowsy, irritated, and desperately in need of rest.
She sat down next to Georgia—whose head was resting on Trinity’s shoulder—while Trinity leaned against the wall. As soon as she sat, Myrina hugged her knees and lowered her head. She’d just wait... hoping for a miracle.
Meanwhile, a man driving a sleek Bugatti Veyron—parked near the five-star bar—smirked as he watched the scene unfold. He saw how one of Myrina’s friends had ditched her with two drunk girls, and now the lady was stuck, worried about how to get them all home after hearing the murder news.
He slid on his shades, stepped on the gas, and drove closer to them.
“Need a ride?” the man asked, looking out the car window.
Myrina looked up—and instantly, her face dropped.
“The f**k? Ikaw na naman?!”
