Chapter 20

1003 Words
What could she possibly say in her letter when she had enough time to talk with her family? Sirius opened the letter as quickly as he could since the bus is waiting for Alice. "Hey! Could you move faster?" The bus driver wailed. ‘Live with my dreams for goodbyes cannot fulfill what I wished for, yet it is enough for your tomorrow.’ “Your sister’s gonna die.” He said. Sirius ran off the streets, going back to the prison. Alice followed him, which made her siblings, along with their mother, went off the bus. They’re just as puzzled as Joe and George. “Therese!” They’re too late. She was breathing and talking a little while ago. Now she’s just a lifeless body lying on the cold ground. Blood spilled on the floor. She’s still holding the knife she used to cut her life. Poor soul, but she didn’t die alone. She had a little life with her, a little reunion with its father. Her mother was lost for words seeing her lovely daughter. All she knew was to visit her to send her off to prison. Now she’s also going to send her off somewhere, someplace where she can’t suffer anymore. She didn’t just sacrifice her body and her heart. She also sacrificed her soul. -0-0-0- He let out another heavy sigh, and for God knows how many times he did it. His heart felt so heavy thinking about what happened in their last case. “Luckily, I never tried to end up my life before.” He sighed while looking at the window. “But I might even try to end your life today if you keep doing that,” Sirius warned him. He lifted his right eyebrow while looking at Sirius, who’s busy reading a newspaper. This man has quite an attitude. If Joe never knew about his current situation, he might blow up his face. He never knew why did he offer him friendship. It might be the dumbest thing he did, but it turns out quite well. He never regretted being acquainted with him. They were at Mr. Lauve’s coffee shop, trying to have a peaceful afternoon with a little caffeine to digest. “Hey man, maybe I’m in no position to say something like this, but you did a great job hanging in there.”- Joe told him. Sirius lowered the newspaper he’s holding and looked at him for a second. “Mind your own business.” He said. He never told anything about himself. He thought that maybe Nate said something. He put back his attention to what he’s been reading when Joe almost screamed. “Oh, goodness! Mr. Flipper’s getting married?” He asked in amusement. Sirius looked at him again and saw he was pointing out an article in the newspaper he’s been reading. He flipped the pages, and there he saw a businessman on the front page, looking good as he was about to get married in a few days. “You know him?” He asked Joe. “Of course! Everybody knows him. Well, I stole one of his watches before, when I got the chance to have a handshake with him when I was in high school. I was one of the lucky students who were granted a scholarship from his company.” He stated. “What a waste.” Mr. Lauve inserted into the conversation while putting his newly picked flowers in a vase. He was into flowers these past few days. “Yes, indeed. That scholarship was a waste.” Joe agreed. “No, the watch was a waste.” Mr. Lauve clarified while laughing. “You really can’t agree with me, old man,” Joe complained while Mr. Lauve was enjoying his little new hobby. “I agree with him. Where’s that watch now?” Sirius asked him. “Well, I pawned it. It was worth quite a lot.” The thief said, honestly. “If I will meet this guy someday, I’ll warn him about you.” Mr. Lauve said “Well, he’s a busy man. Fate wouldn’t keep our lives cross each other again, even at my funeral.” He swore. “It’s a small world, Joe. Hallray is not even greater than a dot.” The old man said while sprinkling some water to his potted plants. “I’ll bet he doesn’t even know our names. It’s not like he’s going to appear one day in front of our faces and ask for our help. A rich guy doesn’t even need our help…”- He stopped in the middle of his statement when he saw a car parked in front of Mr. Lauve’s coffee shop, a 2016 Porsche Panamera Exclusive. Who owned a hell of a car in Hallray? Sirius looked at where Joe fixed his sight. He saw a man wearing an expensive pair of a business suit went down from that car. By the looks of it, he was not that old yet, but judging from his eyes, he lacks sleep, the wrinkles on his head says he spends most of his time preparing for his future, his posture shows he looks like he’s good with people. The look on his face and his body language tell him he’s not there just for a coffee. It looks like he’s finding someone for help. He opened the door, and the bell rang. He looked straight to where the two men were sitting. He has a small envelope with him. Why does this rich Mr. Thomas Flipper visit an infamous coffee shop at Greenville Street one afternoon?
