The next few days with Cleo felt odd, as if I was seeing a sister I never had before. She fixed me breakfast, helped me get up, and walked around. She even helped with Amora from time to time.
"So, you want me to watch her while you sleep?" Cleo asked as she rocked Amora in her arms. I was sad to see how happy Amora made her. It just made me realize that Cleo could never have one of her own.
"No, it's okay. I got Amora. Why don't you do something for yourself? You've been helping me a lot lately."
"I'm alright; I don't need anything." She said as she handed Amora to me.
"So, I have to ask...when you ran off that day with Theo, did he ask you to be his mate?"
I chuckled. "I wish it started like that...but no," my hand instantly went to my pearl.
