Sirens of the Abyss

Chapter 20

-Delilah POV-

I knew that b***h had my pearl. Every time she came near I could hear its faint beating. What I didn't expect was for it to mend with her. My stomach started to turn. Dad wouldn't be happy about that...

I turned to the library room and made my way to the very top. People never came here so it was always peaceful and private. I went to the very back of the room where one lonely bookcase was and skimmed the rims of the books for the feel of heat.

The red book this time heated up and I pulled it out and opened it. My father's stern tone spoke,"Delilah I hope you have better news this time..."

I gulped..."Yes! Daddy I do! I found the pearl," I said proudly. He said nothing for a second.

"Well what are you wanting for? Send it through," He demanded. 

I started to hesitate, "Well the thing is...its mended with the girl who has it." 

Father growled,"What? Then rip it from her...I thought I taught you better than this..you disgust me.."

 My heart sank..."Daddy I'm...I'm going to get it back for you I promise..."

My father wasn't moved,"You better...Or you can forget about coming home. I'd rather have no daughter than a failure" he stated and abruptly hung up.

My heart ached, he wasn't going to let me come home...this was my chance to prove to him that I was worthy of being his daughter. He valued my brothers more than me...I was the only girl and as I remember Father saying before he never wanted me but my mother did and that's why he kept me, to consolidate her.

I screamed and ripped the book in half and I threw it on the ground. I hated this place and everyone on it. I wanted this place to slip into the depths of the abyss and have the devil of the depths devour all their souls. 

I felt immense rage, I had to get that pearl back but Faleen was probably going to put up a fight...I'd just have to figure out a way to take her out silently...

-Faleen POV-

Theo was holding me in his arms and didn't say anything. I broke our embrace and stood up.

"I need too go back to the Library...If I can't control this I'll end up killing someone Theo...I could of killed you." I said stepped back from him.

Theo stood up,"I'm fine now and I'm not letting you out of my sight after what Delilah said to you. She will kill you Faleen. She may look small and act like a child but she is conniving."

Theo had reached for his pants on a chair and dropped his towel. I quickly spun around,"Jesus! You couldn't of given me a little bit of warning?" I yelled.

Theo chuckled and grabbed my shoulders and whispered in my ear,"You can look now" he replied mimicking me .

"Shut up!" I turned around and punched his arm. 

Theo held this arm and pretended like it hurt,"You hit like a girl" he smiled.

I smiled back and replied,"You know what I'm about two seconds from leaving your cocky ass here."

Theo raised his eyebrows and pulled on a Navy blue turtle neck sweater. 

"Alright lets go." Theo said and unlocked the door. He gestured for me to go first and said," Ma'Lady" and bowed. 

I walked past him and asked," Aren't I suppose to bow to you?" 

He came up behind me and put his arm around my shoulder,"I won't tell if you won't" he winked at me.

I suddenly stopped and remembered the situation Theo was in. 

"Theo....you can't be seen with me...you have to stay with Delilah. Your still engaged to her." I stated.

Theo turned back to me with a deep inhale,"Well....isn't that a b***h slap of reality..." He had his hands in his pockets and was staring at me.

I wished I never remembered that...I wish he wasn't still marrying her...I mean after all she was trying to kill me in someway...

We looked at each other for a while...my heart felt like it plunged to the bottom of my stomach. To be so close to him and to not be able to touch him felt like a living nightmare.

"Um..I'm gonna go find Luna.." I said and turned and walked away from him and he didn't come after me. How could I have forgotten about that. I felt so stupid...I shouldn't of let myself kiss him but I wanted to...I wanted him.

I tried to walk away as fast as I could back to the Library were Luna was sitting in the chair cross-legged and had a mean mug on her face.

Uh Oh...I had forgotten how long I had been gone...

-Luna POV-

I never understood why this girl never did what she was told and it was so simple. 

Stay.Sit. READ

I glared at her and she stopped in her tracks,"You Faleen this getting pretty tiring...You running off and not doing what I told you to do and i'm only trying to help you" I stated.

Faleen held her head down and held herself with her arms. 

Ugh. What was I going to do with this girl. Might as well put a tracking device on her..Jesus.

"Did you even read any of these books I laid out for you?" I asked and Faleens head shot up,"Yes! yes I did and I found something!"

Well at least she did read them...

"Alright what did you find?"I asked trying to dismiss my anger towards her fleeting nature.

She pulled up a sit next to me and continued to talk,"I found a black book with a creature on it and I looked through a few pages and came across the words Hellfire and a sentence in the book had mentioned that it was summoned or born in the bowls of Hell itself."

I looked at Faleen with a blank expression. The only person I knew who would know more about Hellfire was Poseidon...

"Alright come with me right now," I got up and took her around and dragged her with me. 

"Wait where are we going? Did I do something wrong?" She asked worried.

"No hun, you didn't we need to talk to the only person I know here that would know anything about Hellfire and that's Poseidon..." I hoped he was here because from what I knew of Hellfire it could kill your soul and leave you without memory of anything.
