Chapter 21

-Poseidon- "So, have you set a date for your wedding day?" I asked my son. Theo looked on edge about something; this boy worried me sometimes. Finally, he scratched his neck, "Well... haven't thought about it." I raised my eyebrow at him, "And why not? The sooner, the better, at least for our sake," I pressed him at the matter. "Dad...I will pick a date...I just haven't discussed it with Delilah yet.." He looked away from me now. Something was wrong. "Theo...what's on your mind?" I faced him now and crossed my arms. "Delilah is just unbearable," he said and winced away from me as if I was to hit him. I laughed and grabbed his shoulder and pulled him into a side hug, "Oh my boy...you are too much like your old man." I ruffled his hair, and he tried to swat my hand away, and I laughed. "Not funny, dad.." He replied, fixing his hair. "Oh, don't be so dreary, Theo," I said and walked back to my chair. "Honestly, Dad...I think marrying her would probably kill me..." he said "Or her," he added in a low voice. I sighed, "Yes, I know Delilah is...well...different, but you can settle your differences." "Can I marry her and Divorce her on the same day? Would Hades accept that?" he asked jokingly. I scoffed, "Sadly, no, he wouldn't. Hades is not a man you can make deals with easily, and it's even harder to get out of one with him."  "Dad...how come you can't fight him? He isn't the ruler here..you are," Theo stated. I sighed once again...there was still a lot for this boy to learn," Theo fighting Hades would make the whole seven seas suffer and the people around it. Think of It as the most significant earthquake known to man and would destroy the sea...pollute it, and gods know what it could do to the humans. It would be a domino effect, and I'm not risking that." Theo slumped in a chair near the table and started to fiddle with the pieces on the map. "Well...I guess I got a wedding to start planning, huh?"He said. I hated that it had to come to this. I wanted him to meet his mate the way I had met his mother...not arranged, just natural. "I am sorry, Theo...I wanted nothing more than for you to find a mate on your own..."I said with sadness in my voice.  Theo turned to me, "I mean...I could always cheat on her..." he smirked at me. Jesus, this boy was too much like me with his witty attitude. I laughed at his comment. "Now, if you did that, she would kill you," I replied, chuckling. The door opened, and the guards let Luna and Faleen enter the room. I stood up, "Well, it's nice to your faces again. Luna, you're looking well" I walked down to meet them and kissed Luna on her hand, and she smiled. "I'm happy you both are here. We have something to discuss, Faleen," she said Faleen was holding her arm and avoiding eye contact with me.  "Oh? and what is it exactly you would like to discuss with us?" I asked. "Faleen can create Hellfire,"  she said, and I looked at Faleen. "Is this true, Faleen?" I asked. "Yes...," she replied. I immediately ordered the guards to let no one in, not even Delilah, until I said otherwise. "I'm sorry I didn't come to you sooner, but we didn't know what it was at first," Luna said I walked over to my chest next to the table, opened it, and grabbed the book inside. "Poseidon?" Luna was following me around. I gave her the book. "Faleen, come with please," I asked, and she followed. The pearl had mended with her now, she had consumed whatever the pearl was holding, and I needed to see exactly what that was. I brought her to the back of the room and unlocked the back door. But, unfortunately, it did not lead out but led into another of my creation rooms.  "Sit here," I pointed at the chair in the middle of the room and let Theo and Luna fellow us in before I closed the door. Faleen sat in the chair. The chair was like a dentist's chair, but it was black. Theo had never been in this room before, and he didn't know about it til now. "Faleen, I need to see what was in that pearl, and to do that, I have to open it..." I said to her, and her eyes widened. "Wait, what? Why? Will that kill me?" She looked frightened. I put my hand on her shoulder.  "No, it won't kill you, but it will hurt. I won't lie about that," I replied. "Why is it so important to find out what's inside of it," Theo asked now by Faleen's side. "Because whatever was in that pearl was the key to unlocking the underworld...and now it's in Faleen," I said and hoped that whatever Hade's made this from wasn't going to kill this girl from the inside. -Faleen- Great now someone had to cut into me. I was more annoyed than scared right now. I wished my father had read the instructions for this thing before giving it to me. I sighed," Alright...I'm just going to guess you can't put me to sleep for this?" I asked, and Poseidon shook his head. "I can't put you to sleep for this...sadly, you will feel everything, but I'll try to be gentle," Poseidon said. I looked at Theo beside me, and he looked more nervous than me.  "Okay, let's do it, "I said, just wanting to get it over with. Poseidon nodded, and the chair started to move to lay me flat. He then took a sharp-like tool I had never seen before. It looked like a clear diamond with a sharp point at the end.  I closed my eyes tight. I didn't want to see what came out of it. I felt a slight prick and then searing pain. It burned like hell, and I grabbed the arms of the chair and dug my nails in. I felt what I could only think was blood flowing down my chest.  Then I heard something screech that sent chills down my back, and Luna started to scream.
