Sirens of the Abyss

Chapter 22

-Luna POV-

I screamed at the horror that started to come out of the pearl. A long black lengthy arm had started to reach out of the pearl. Why in the world was that?

"Poseidon!?" I yelled.

"Don't worry Luna, Faleen is gonna be fine...," he replied and grabbed the creature's arm and it started to shriek and retreated back within Faleen.

Thank god Faleen had closed her eyes so she didn't see what that awful thing looked like...

"Alright Faleen, you can open your eyes now," Poseidon said to her.

She opened them and looked at me. I felt myself shaking and she noticed.

Theo had walked away from her and to me an was now holding my shoulders.

"Faleen have you ever heard of the keys of Hades?" he asked her and she shook her head.

"The keys of Hades are magic keys owned by Hades. They have the power to "seal" or "free" people in the Underworld, which means someone can bring someone from or send someone to the Underworld using the keys," he said and placed the knife down on a table.

"It looks like Hades has used some of the souls to seal his gates and he put a good amount of them inside this pearl. This pearl is one of his keys," he added.

Faleen looked bewildered, I walked to her side and took her hand...the poor girl going through all this from something her father had given her...but it was odd to me that this never happened to Derek.

"Poseidon...why didn't this happen to Derek?" I asked and Faleen's head turned to me.

Poseidon glanced at me as he was wiping his hands off on a cloth,"Derek never wore the pearl, he kept it close but never wore it. He probably had no idea this kind of thing could of happened," he answered.

"Wait so because I happened to wear this thing on my neck it decided..."hey lets stay in her?" Faleen said sarcastically.

I chuckled, this girl amused me. Ever though she had gone through all of this she was still had her sassy comments.

Poseidon looked amused as well, "I guess they liked your aura...spirits...even dead ones can see them,"Poseidon said.

Theo was now next to me and sat his chin on my shoulder, "Guess I get to call you ghoul girl now?" he smirked at Faleen and she leered at him," Well I guess you would know ghouls since your marrying one," she snapped back a him. 

Theo put his hand on his heart,"Ouch" he replied and smiled a her and she smirked back at him.

I had not realized it til now but they seemed to blend well together. Their humor matched and not only that Faleen had a spitfire side of her that complemented Theo's witty comebacks and he seemed to like that. If I hadn't known any better I would of thought they were the ones getting engaged...and the thought of that made me happier than the thought of Theo marrying Delilah.

Poseidon unlocked the door and let us out and signaled to the guards to let people in again. 

"Luna," Poseidon gestured for me to come to him. He lowered his voice,"I want you to stay with Faleen when you can...I have a feeling Delilah knows about what Faleen has and she might try to take it and If I know Hades as well as I think I do...He wants that key back and Delilah won't be able to separate it from Faleen," he said.

I nodded,"So basically Faleen is the key now?" I asked and Poseidon nodded in return. 

"Delilah would have to take Faleen alive to the underworld," he stated and the thought of that made me quiver.

"I will make sure either me or Theo are around her,"I said and put my hand on his shoulder to reassure him and walked out with Theo and Faleen.

-Faleen POV-

I couldn't believe this. Not only did I have a bunch of needy souls inside me but I was also a key Hades needed for the Underworld.

I sighed and Theo wrapped his hand around my shoulder,"Don't worry your gonna be fine. Its not like your gonna turn into a ghoul too," he said and socked him in the stomach.

"Stop being a smart ass," I said and continued to walk behind Luna. 

"Jesus you just love hit hitting..." Theo said walking up to me and holding his stomach.

"Well that seems to be the only way to get through to you because your so hard headed," I smirked at him and looked down smiling as we walked behind Luna.

"So...you wanna take a side trip?" Theo asked with his head still down.

I looked at him," We can't be alone together Theo...you know that..."

"Well think of it more as I'm "teaching" you something new about this place. Besides you've been through a lot...thought you might wanna actually have fun for a change," He winked at me.

"Theo...every time we have "Fun" together I practically end up killing you,"I chuckled.

"Yeah...I'm not taking no for an answer Faleen," he smiled devilishly.

I swear the boy was asking for trouble...

I sighed,"Alright where do you wanna take me-" he then pulled me the opposite way of where Luna was going and we trailed off somewhere I had not been before.

"Theo where are we going?" I asked but he put his finger to his lips to shh me.

We arrived at a wooden door that seemed to glow from the outside. The took out a black key from hi pocket and unlocked it and the door let out a long creaking sound.

He pulled me in with him and locked the door behind us. I turned to see where he had brought us and there was another Lagoon but this one was brighter and looked like pool water and its reflections made the cave walls shimmer all around. 

"Theo what is this?" I asked and he still said nothing.

He then took his shirt off and started entering the water at knee length. He started to clap his hands underwater.

"So you know how my father has his creation room right?" he said and I nodded confused at what he was doing.

"Yeah..." I replied and I started to see the water ripple and then something under the water charge at Theo.

"Theo!" I yelled and tried to grab his shoulder but I slipped and ended up in the water holding on to him.

I hid my head in his chest and he started to laugh.I immediately looked up at him and thought he had played a dirty joke on me,"That was not funny Theo!" I yelled at him.

"Oh yeah? She thought is was funny," He looked down at me and hinted at something behind me.

I slowly turned my head and something snorted hot air on my shoulders and looked up and was staring at a snot.

The thing in front of me reared  its body upwards showing hooves and started to neigh swimming around.

Its upper body looked like a horse but the back of it looked like a fish but it was all shimmering white like a pearl and what was suppose to be a mane down the back of its neck I presumed, was a beautiful gorgeous betta-tail like fin.

"Faleen..Meet Cascadia my Hippocampi," Cascadia reared up again and splashed the water around her and swam up to Theo and I moved back. Theo embraced her as she pushed her head into his chest and let out what I could only describe as little chirps.

"Cascadia was the first thing I ever created on my own, without my fathers help," Cascadia continued to chirp into his chest as he caressed her neck.

She was beautiful...

"Theo...she's breath taking," I touch my chest as if my breath had left me.

"Do you want to touch her?" he asked and held out his hand to me

I took his hand as he helped me back into the water,"Uh does she bite?" I asked.

Theo chuckled,"No of course not, she's a sweetheart. Come on, give me your hand."

Theo took my hand and put it on Cascadia. She still didn't move and I continued to pet her. She was smooth and very slippery I could feel her breathing and her small little chirps she let out, Like a little coo to a lover.

"She adores you..," I said getting lost in the beauty of her.

"And I her..,"He said putting his head on Cascadia's nuzzling it.

I never saw Theo like this before, so gentle towards something he loved. I started to stare at him. His hands were around Cascadia and his eyes were closed and his body was half way out of the water. He looked so peaceful. Like nothing in the world was wrong.

"I'm planning on giving Cascadia to my first born,"he said with his eyes still closed.

"Oh..." I said thinking of what Delilah and his child would look like. Her brown hair hair and his white hair. Hopefully the kid would have Theo's looks..

I got lost in my thoughts when Theo started to clear his throat," Oh?" He said mimicking me.

"Sorry I was just thinking of what yours and Delilahs first born would look like," I smiled mickly

He stifled a laugh,"And how do you know my first child is going to be with Delilah?" he said stroking Cascadia's mane.

What was he talking about?

"If you hadn't noticed, God's don't really play by the rules of monogamy," he looked over at me still stroking Cascadia's Mane and she started to make a purring sound.

"So you plan to cheat on Delilah?" I said c*****g my head at him.

"My children aren't gonna be the spawn of Satan," He said smiling at me.

"Wow and I took you for the "One person only type of guy" guess I was wrong about that huh,"I raised my eyebrows at him and pressed my lips.

His face turned blank,"If father is going to have me marrying someone I don't want to marry in the first place, I'll be damned if my children are going to come from someone I don't care for," Cascadia started to prance around splashing everywhere.

"I'm sorry, guess if I was in your position I'd probably do the same thing...I mean when my mother was going to have me chose from 10 men I didn't even know, I was furious and I planned on running away," I said

Theo leaned back and looked at me,"And then you ran into me" He started to smile and I started to blush.

Meeting him had actually been a highlight in my life but It just sucked that he was already engaged and I still had these feelings for him.

He c****d his head at me and started smirking.

"What?" I asked 

"Hm...nothing just surprised you haven't hit me yet," he said sitting up and scooting himself deeper into the water.

I rolled my eyes,"Shut up," I laughed.

"You coming in?" He asked swimming around where Cascadia had been. 

I held my knees to my chest. After see how beautiful Cascadia was I felt a little unnerved.

Posesidon had created me something that looked like succubus sea devil...and Theo had created Cascadia a beautiful creature unlike me.

I turned my head...why did I feel so ashamed.

"You don't have to feel like that,"he said and I leered at him.

"Stop doing that..."I demanded

"What?" he asked. 

"It's like you read my mind and I hate that! You know what I'm thinking," I turned my head.

"You kinda do it to yourself...you let your walls down around me sometimes...I can't help but peek over and see what your thinking," he said and swam to the end of where I was sitting.

I sighed,"Well..stop doing that" I said.

"Your not a monster Faleen...," he said and he was now lifting his upper half out of the water and on the edge next to me.

"I never said I was..." I said not looking at him.

"You think you are but your not. My father may have created you to kill men but it was for a reason. For the sins of men, the curse just never went away. Sometimes when we create things they aren't perfect and when you look at Cascadia she looks perfect to you but she isn't. If you didn't notice she isn't suppose to chirp or purr," He said and laughed and I splashed him in his face.

"Alright I'm done,"I said chuckling and I stood up.

"Don't you wanna see where this way leads?" He said in a sneaky voice. 

I turned back to him and he wasn't wrong I did wanna know where Cascadia had come from.

"Alright...but after this we need to get back or Luna will have our heads," I said I followed him into the water.
