Chapter 16

-Faleen POV-

Luna must of seen me red as an apple when I came into the care unit. "Oh hun are you okay," she asked concerned.

"Oh no I'm fine," I hurried and put on the clothes Luna had laid out for me. I turned around and Luna had a needle in her hand. "Um Luna..what's that for?" I eyed the needle.

"I have to give a child a vaccine and they are not happy about it," I heard a high pitched scream.

"Yup that's the one. I'll need your help to keep them calm," she said. I stared at Luna for a little.

"Huh you know I don't have any experience with this right?" I told her. She flick the syringe. "I know but I don't have anyone else right now and this gives you something to do," she said.

I wasn't about to argue with her. Time to put my big girl panties on. "Alright just follow me and remain calm. The child is going to scream and kick but his just scared like anyone at that age is okay?" I nodded my head.

I followed her down a little hall way in the care unit and stopped at the door of a room the child was crying from.

She sighed,"I hate giving these shots but its a requirement" and with that she opened the door and I followed her in.

"Alright here we go little guy,"Luna said calmly but the kid still lost it.

"No! Mama!" he screamed and curled up in his mothers arms. The mother tried to pry him out of her lap but he grabbed on to her.

"I'm sorry he is just really scared," The mom all but gave up.

"Here let me help," Luna said.

She put the needle away so the kid wouldn't see it and bent down to the child's height.

"Alright hun so we're going to let you stay with your mom but you have to leave one arm out for us okay?" Luna tried to work with the kid but he wasn't fooled.

"It's okay I'll turn his head and you can give him the vaccine." The mother said and put her child's head on her chest and left one arm out. We waited a little bit fir him to calm down.

Luna wiped the spot on his bicep where she was going to stick him. Then took the syringe and hide it from child so he wouldn't see it.

She grabbed his bicep muscle and pinched it and stuck the needle in fast, administered the vaccine and quickly wiped it with a cotton ball and placed a band-aid on it.

"There you go! Your all done no more needles!" Luna showed him her hands and the kid was still upset but wasn't screaming.

"Thank you so much Luna your the best." The mother thanked Luna and picked up her child and walked out.

"And that's how you give a child a vaccine. He was pretty brave towards the end there, poor thing." Luna said as she took off her rubber gloves.

"Luna...I have a question about something?" I didn't wanna ask but I couldn't understand something.

She turned to me,"Okay...go ahead" she said.

"Well when I first met Delilah she was pretty...how you say...creepy. She said she didn't like me without even knowing me. Why would Theo marry someone like that?"

Luna's face turned bitter and she replied,"Theo didn't chose her as his mate. They have an arranged marriage and sadly without the marriage we would have a war."

A war? Who exactly is Delilah and where did she come from?"

"In my honest opinion she is the wrong person for Theo. I barely know the girl but from the why I've seen her act with others I already down't like her," Luna stated and I didn't blame her. Delilah freaked me out and she seemed so...dark or maybe its that she seemed heartless.

Luna raised her eyebrow at me."So why are you wanting to talk about Theo all of a sudden huh?" She was smirking at me now.

Her question caught me off guard. Why was I thinking about him? Maybe it was because I had just bumped into him in the hallway..well more liked crashed into him and landed on top of him..

We always seemed to be in each others way somehow.

"Hello? Earth Faleen are you in there?" Luna started waving her hand in front of my face. I hadn't realized I had spaced out.

"Oh sorry..um well I just had a question that's all," I smiled innocently. She narrowed her eyes at me.

"Uh huh, well when you wanna tell me the truth I'll be right here," She laughed.

"Okay well I probably should go get some sleep," I said yawning. I actually was pretty tired.

Luna started to yawn to,"Hey don't do that I'm working a night shift tonight." she chuckled. "Alright hun go get some rest, Oh and I better find you in that bed when I come to see you in the morning or your gonna see me curse like a sailor. You hear me young lady?" She pointed her finger I me.

I pretended to salute her,"Yes ma'am" and started walking back to the room.

I got half way to the room when I started to her music coming from a room I hadn't been in before. I followed the music to the cracked door. People were in the room dancing and I saw Delilah with Theo dancing together. Was this a rehearsal? The song was upbeat it made even wanna dance.

All the people looked happy twirling and gliding on the dance floor. I wonder if anyone could join...

"You know you can take part to right?" I heard a girl whisper behind me. I turned my head slightly. The girl was wearing a red dress that looked like it flowed when walked. "Oh I didn't know it was for everyone and I don't have a dress like those woman do."

The girl grabbed my hand,"Don't worry I have one! Oh my name is Julia by the way." She lead me to a room two doors down. "So what's your name?" she asked.

"Faleen," I replied.

"Oh that's a pretty name! I like it." She smiled showing the dimples in her cheeks. "Don't mind me I love getting people dressed up for things like this." She had me wait by the door in the room. I looked like a huge freaking closet of clothes...

"Oh this would look beautiful on you!" She pulled out a Sapphire blue dress and gave it to me. "Oh and these heels are prefect." Julia then gave me black heals that weren't too big, thank god cause I sucked at walking in them.

"Alright get those on and lets go dance!" Julia danced out out of the room. I smiled at her, so far she was the first person I met here.

I put on the dress and it was soft  but my shoulders showed and my collar bones and neck stuck out. It wasn't too long either. I took a brush sitting on a little shelve and brushed my hair with it. I left it down and walked out of the room. Julia was waiting for me twirling in her dress making her red curls dance everywhere.

She stopped once she saw me. "Oh wow! I love it!" She grabbed my hand and lead me to dance floor. I was dazzled by the soft flickering lights above.

I looked at everyone dancing. Women in colorful dresses and men with their black coat jackets off.

My gaze turned to Delilah who was dancing with Theo. She was being spun around by him and laughing and so was she. It felt bittersweet seeing them together. I envied the happiness they were feeling because all my life I've never really had that and what I wanted the most in life. My heart ached but I wanted to join them. Julia pulled me into the crowed and started to dance with me.

"Come girl I know you got some moves with that body! Shake it! Woo!" I laughed a Julia she was dancing around me and I started to dance with her. She twirled me and twirled her in return. I was actually have fun. We danced to I don't know how many songs but I didn't care I could dance the night away not feeling anything but them music.

I soon lost Julia in the many songs we danced to and found myself in tangled with man I didn't know but he wasn't grabby so it wasn't awkward dancing with him. He kept in rhythm with me and I danced with him for a few other songs.

-Theo POV-

Delilah actually wasn't a bad dancer she moved to the rhythm of the songs. She liked to get really close to me though. Like a snake slithering its body up against you.

I didn't mind that tonight though because that run it with Faleen had put me on edge. I couldn't get her out of my mind. That innocent way she blushed barely wearing anything...

I had to shake the thought out of my head or it would of stayed there. Delilah pushed up against me and I let her. I ever let her kiss me a couple times tonight. I wanted her to replace the feelings I was having for Faleen. I wanted her stop the ache I felt from not being around her.

Delilah got on her tip-toes and whispered in my ear. "I hope you move this good in bed too..." I smirked at her and replied," Too bad you'll never find out huh."

She glared at me,"Tease." she said playfully pushing me away from her. She then started to dance away from me.

I felt like I was losing it. Was I actually thinking of sleeping with Delilah tonight just pushed down these feelings? f**k.
