26 The lawman peered into a low lying stained glass window from his hidden vantage point at the back of the building. Candlelight flickered through the colored glass as Jake found his way through the sanctuary. He was at the front of the room and a series of clatters gave Tuc the impression that Jake was ransacking the church. “What the hell?’ Tuc whispered to himself, wondering what was driving his lifelong friend and brother to this madness.
