Bernice's POV: The three of us rushed to where our shirt and jacket was hung and quickly put it on. The pounding on the door became harder and we stood there nervously waiting for the worst. Trisha left our side and tiptoed to the door, I mouthed to her "what are you doing" but she silence me with her finger on her lips. "Who's there?" She asked. 's**t!' I exclaimed inwardly slapping my forehead. What the hell was Trish doing? "Open this door now!" We heard a masculine voice respond rom the outside. Trish turnaround and stared at me and I stared at her speechlessly while Cathy stood there watching us. Trish walked back to us and I raised a brow at her. "It could be that monster again" she announced and I was confused for a moment. "What monster?" I asked in a whisper with furrowed brows. "That asshole that captured us earlier on has come haunting us again" she whispers breathing heavily but I didn't believe her. "That's impossible, I saw you hurt him so much, he couldn't have become fine in just a short while and come haunting us down", I demurred. There's no way that man would have healed in just a few hours, except he possess some spiritual powers. "Of course he did! Is all your fault you know, if only you'd allowed me to kill him he won't have been alive by now haunting us down", she snapped me out of my thoughts. "I don't get it, Trish, why are you blaming over this now?!" I half-yelled and there was another heavy pounding on the door. "Both of you should calm down", Cathy said standing in between the both of us. "What monster are you two talking about?". "You remember how we went missing?" I asked and she nodded, "the guy that kidn*pped us is who we're talking about, just because we maneuver his plans and Trish tortured him then I begged for her not to kill him now she's blaming me for his being alive. She thinks he's the one outside there coming to haunt us". "Well, that's quite a story, but both of you should know now isn't the right time for an argument or pushing blames on each other, we have to put our heads together and look for a solution not fighting." She reprimanded and I glanced away shutting my eyes closed. "I know that already Cath, Trish is my close friend I won't want to pick up a fight with her for no reason. I can understand we all are in a mess right now but Trish shouldn't put blame on me. I know that together we can win whatever adventure that is waiting for us out there." I said. "Open this door now or I'll do it in a forceful way!" The voice threatened from the outside. "Did you girls hear that?" I asked and they nodded, "we won't give in to his empty threat, we need to arm ourselves before we open up that door, okay?" I whispered. "Yes, we won't let him get us again, not this time" Trish agreed. "Neither will I let him lay a hand on any of you" Cathy concurred. "Then let's do this" I said and we searched around for any weapon we could lay our hands on. I picked up a rod under the dinning table, Cathy picked up a mopping stick, then Trish picked up an hammer she found under the couch. We walked to the door and stood there like the 'three musketeers' and then I counted. "1,2,...ready?" I whispered and they gave a nod, "and 3" I opened up the door and raised my rod to hit our attacker but the person I saw beside him caught me off guard and my rod remained on the air. Natasha's POV: "Bernie?" I mumbled my friend's name when I saw her in the house Scott had brought me to, he told me this was his hide out since yesterday he came to this forest for a research. When we got here and he saw that it was locked from the inside he sensed trouble and he told me he wouldn't leave despite my plea until he finds out who has taken over his hide out, not knowing is my friend, no not just one of my friend but I'm seeing Trish and.. "Cathy?" I muttered in shock. My three friends are alive? Am I imagining things? I blink my eyes severally and my friends were still standing right in front of me. "Nat!" They squeal in unison and enveloped me with a crushing hug. I broke down into tears...no, it wasn't just my sobs could be heard, the three of us broke into an unending sobs on the doorstep in a group hug. "Ladies, you should all go inside, is very risky out here" Scott said breaking our reunion. The four of us pulled apart and we rushed inside the house. I sniffle and wiped my nose with my hand. Scott was right behind us, he got inside with us and locked the door. "I thought I'll never see you all again" I sobbed more wiping the tears but it was rolling down my cheeks non-stop. "We thought the same. You don't know how hard it was for me to leave you behind in that cave" Cathy muffled hiccuping and hugged me again. "It was for the best, perhaps if you had stayed behind we wouldn't have made it out alive" I replied patting her back. "How did you find my friends?" I asked the question that has been bothering me since when I saw them. "She saw us when she left you, she was running under the heavy rainfall so was I and Trish, then we collided and...." Bernie paused and sighs, "that was how we found each other. She was really crazy you know, she wanted to go back and get you out of the cave like some super heroine" she chuckle and I snickered. "But we stopped her from doing that because that was a risky one there". "Yes it was, I'm glad you stopped her. Thank you all for staying alive for me, I'm really sorry I put you all through this, I'm sorry" I apologized feeling guilty for all the stress they've been through. "Is not your fault, Nat. We all came here to have fun, but unfortunately things happened and everything got disrupted, is not your doing, is just an unforeseen occurrences" Cathy said. "I've told her that countless times but she wouldn't listen to me" Scott chirped in. All their gaze fell on him. "Who is he?" Trisha asked me pointing at Scott. "He's my friend, he saved me out of that cave and brought me here, his name is Scott. Scott meet my friends the ones I told you about, Bernie, Trisha and Catherine." I introduced the four of them to each other. "Do you live in the forest, Scott?" Cathy asked and Scott smiled and shook his head. "I'm actually here on a research" he replied. "On a research? What the hell are you researching on even at night?" Trisha asked with her hands folded and placed on her chest. "I'm researching on this place, there's a lot I need to know about it?" He answered. "Is there an evil spirit here like in the movies?" Trisha asked with a twitched face. "Of course not!" Scott and Bernie exclaimed in unison. They gazed up at each other for a moment and shared a smile and I heave a sigh. "There's a new information reaching me this evening by Scott" I announced and the girls were alarmed. "What?"! They asked in unison. "Uh...I... actually..." "Just speak already!" Trisha yelled at me impatiently. "This forest for now is out of bound till further notice due to some strange occurrences the owners noticed, so they wanted to work on it before allowing visitors to come here." Scott explained on my behalf. "Damn it!" Trish cussed slamming her fist on the armchair of the couch. "Then why did you come here when you knew all that, are a private investigator?" Cathy asked with a frown. Scott shrugs and gave a deep sigh. "Well because this is the right time for me to focus on my research without no interruptions by any guests that were meant to troop in here." "Are you an alien or something?" Bernie questioned. "No I'm not" he answered with a smile. "You must be a psychopath to come here all alone knowing there's a danger here", Trish said and I scowled at her. "Trisha!" I exclaimed shocked at what she just said. "No is fine, she's not the first to think that of me" He replied coolly and forced a smile. "No, is not fine, I can't let her disrespect you. You do have your reasons for coming here, we have no right to question your motives here, be it weird or not." I said with a deep frown. "Nat is right, you should apologize for your use of word on Scott" Cathy concurred. "Whatever!" She hissed. "Sorry weirdo", she said with an eye roll and we stared at her with a raised brow. "Really, Trish?" I asked with wide eyes. "Just let her be, it's fine whatever she calls me" Scott intruded with a smile. Awkward silence filled the room. I was thinking how we're gonna make it out of here alive.. "So how do we get out of here, Scott?" Cathy asked breaking the awkward silence. I think she just asked what was on my mind. Scott gazed up at her for a moment and then his gaze fell on me and I raised a brow at him. "I don't think I know" that was his answer and all hope of surviving this predicament vanished that instant. Thanks for Reading! please don't forget to like, comment and share! cheers???
