Chapter 8: Motorcycle

Caleb’s POV

I didn’t expect that this night would be as interesting as this. I’ve seen a lot of werewolves shifted during the full moon but tonight is just not the same as the any of those nights. Each wolf has been given their own time in my pack for them to transform but before the moon reaches its peak everyone will gather to start the pack run celebrating the rebirth of their wolf and a small feast is shared making it a memorable day for each and every wolf. Some would be fortunate to find their mate and some found their strength with the help of their wolf.

When I saw Alina shift, I was in awe maybe because this is the first time I saw a female Thalon same as my age to transform. Her wolf was so beautiful, her fur was so white like snow beaming in the moonlight, she stands gracefully and runs swiftly making my wolf excited to run freely with her. I’ve felt the excitement with Alab and when she started running I wasn’t able to stop Alab to take over and I watch at the back while he runs with her, while he hunts with her and when she called out even I was mesmerized and answered to her call. I howl along with Alab answering we are here and we’re ready to run with her. It felt like I was not myself or Alab felt like in trans during the whole run. When we’re back at bonfire it was only right after that, that I notice the changing of the moon, from the blood moon to the normal moon and unlike any other story of the blood moon we were agitated but would not hurt any human.

I am now reminiscing the events that happened earlier but I can only remember how Alina shifted, the run and the return back to Adrienne praying. I can only remember how her wolf looks like and the urge in me on wanting to hold her.

I will bring her back to the pack tomorrow and introduce her to the rest of the guardians who would come along us in the quest to the underworld.

The night has been wonderful Alina didn’t expect it to be as warm as this. God has somehow shed some light and give her a break, there was no sign of his uncle’s minions was and her transformation and Halea’s acceptance went well not to mention finding Caleb. Halea and Alina retired for the night, Halea opened up on what happened to her during her shift. She finally met the dragon from her dreams, the one she is destined to kill. They also discussed her plans on a quest to the underworld while Halea informed her of her journey on meeting the ancient goddess Makiling and Amihan. She also told her the prophecy of the fire and the moonlight returning to the realms of the dead, in a way of telling her that she is needed in the same quest that Caleb and she are going. Halea agreed to follow which gave her relief.

Everything seems to be taking its place, the discussion with the Thalon King went well and he will help her investigate the death of her parents as well as his grandfather. She just needs to fulfil the quest and then start working on getting her pack back.

The next day she went to see Juno, to discuss her plans. He was fixing his motorcycle at the garage with Caleb.

“I wanted to talk to you for a bit if that’s okay,” Alina started then she went inside the office and sat down while Juno followed. 

“The Thalon King promises to help me on the investigation to find some evidence on the death of my parents,” Alina said, 

“That’s good to know gaining his trust would help us on gaining the trust of the older pack b members,” he said,

“He will help me in taking back my place at the pack, But for now, I need to complete a quest with Caleb,” she continued

“What is this quest that you are referring to?”

“During Halea’s birthday celebration, Caleb’s pack witch accidentally falls down and I helped her when I touched her she and I had a vision, in that vision I was asked to return to the realms of the dead along with the flame and the bearer of the moonlight. According to Amelia and Caleb, there were 4 guardians of the underworld who had the same vision along with the flame and the bearer of the moonlight. And they need to go on this mission and they will be judge,”

“So you’re saying that you’re one of these guardians in the underworld,”

“Maybe why not, after all, I am a female Thalon Alpha. The last of my kind, there are only me in my clan and Caleb and his family are the only remaining,”

“Make sense. It would also be good for you not to stay here, that way it will be difficult for the hired hitman to find you,” Juno said.

“It’s settled then, I will go in this quest,”

“Just be careful and update me regularly. Also, that birthmark is now visible as much as possible hide it. It would be best that no one would know who you are until we can plan your return,” he said.

“Don’t worry I’ll be careful about not showing it to anyone.”

“Alright, is that all?”

“Yes, that’s all,”

After Caleb helped Juno with his motorcycle the two, Caleb and Alina, said their goodbye to Juno. Halea left early that day since she plans to go somewhere else while Alina informed her that she will be staying with Caleb to start their journey.

The two went back to Caleb’s pack using his motorcycle. They were both silent during the ride as if they’re contented just to be next to each other.

Alina holds Caleb from behind and rested her chin on his shoulder while Caleb listens to her heartbeat opposite his.

They arrive early and Caleb brought Alina to her room and has introduced her to some of the omegas who would help her while she stays in the palace. He let her rest for a while and he went to inform his father that he is back with her.

Alina looked around her room memorizing each corner she wanted to try something, she called on Rose.

“No, our power is not yet developed fully. We might end up on a similar place nearby instead of the treehouse,” Rose said it in her mind. “do it one at a time or on a certain radius so you won’t end up sleeping at your destination due to exhaustion,”

"Alright, I'll try shorter distance to be able to measure my energy," Alina said
