Part 2: Modalities and opposite signs

There are different modalities and this time we are going to take a look at them and understand them better. There are three different modalities of the zodiac signs: cardinal signs, fixed signs and mutable signs. Each one has different characteristics. But first let's look at what modality each of the zodiac signs belongs to.

1. Aries - cardinal sign

2. Taurus - fixed sign

3. Gemini - mutable sign

4. Cancer - cardinal sign

5. Leo - fixed sign

6. Virgo - mutable sign

7. Libra - cardinal sign

8. Scorpio - fixed sign

9. Sagittarius - mutable sign

10. Capricorn - cardinal sign

11. Aquarius - fixed sign

12. Pisces - mutable sign

Now let's look closer at the three different modalities and learn more about them.

Cardinal signs - they are the ones starting things, the spark to start something or in other words the ones who came up with the idea. People who have mostly these signs(Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) in their natal charts usually are the one who lead, start things. They are independent and active. Some negative sides that can be seen are wanting to be the leader at any cost, not respecting people around them, being way too much goal oriented and not caring about anything else. The most dynamic of all is Aries. Each of them is at the beginning of a season.

Fixed signs - they are the ones who keep things going, they are persistent in what they do and it's hard to change their opinion once they set their mind to doing something. People who have a lot of fixed signs(Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) are very patient, persistent in what they do, they don't give up easily on things or beliefs until they themselves find that they have been wrong if they are, very loyal, have a lot of energy. Some negative sides can be not wanting to change their opinions, always believing that they are right and others are wrong, the desire to save material things or own a lot of them. If we try to look at the seasons each of those signs is in we notice that it's always the most intensive part of that specific season.

Mutable signs - they show changes, transformation. People who have a lot of placements in mutable signs(Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). Changes and instability can be used as key words here. Each of them is at the end of each season. Some positive sides of this are easily making decisions, easily adapting to new situations and people, communication is natural to them, learning new things or methods can be easy to them. Gemini is the best example of a mutable sign because it is the most adaptable to changes.

Meaning:

C - Cardinal

F - Fixed

M - Mutable

Each sign has it's opposite sign also known as "sister sign". Here are all opposite signs:

Aries - Libra

Taurus - Scorpio

Gemini - Sagittarius

Cancer - Capricorn

Leo - Aquarius

Virgo - Pisces

These opposite signs tend to get along very well, they "complete" each other as some people say. We notice that these signs are the complete opposite of each other as well.
