CHAPTER 4

‎Chapter 4 ‎ ‎ ‎It was Friday. Honestly, Friday was my day of the week, except for Saturdays and Sundays. I yawned, wiping my sleepy eyes, and turned toward the bedside. I checked my phone for the time; it was still early, and I had more than enough time to prepare for school. ‎ ‎ ‎I was about to leave the bed when I heard a series of vibrations coming from my phone. I stared at it, somewhat surprised. What could make my phone vibrate so much? I didn't ever text many people, or anyone at all, really. Intrigued, I checked my phone to see I had been added to a group chat called ‎ ‎"The Chaos." I was almost confused until I saw Audrey's name, and then I recognized Lucy, Jax, and Luke. They had added me to their group chat. ‎ ‎ ‎I remembered Audrey talking about something like this on Wednesday, and it turned out they were completely serious about it. I chuckled. ‎ ‎A new message popped up. ‎ ‎Luke: "Welcome Eliza." ‎ ‎Jax: "Yay, you're officially a member of Chaos World." 🍾. ‎ ‎I laughed slightly. I typed fast. "But who the hell names their group chat 'The Chaos'? ‎ ‎"Lucy: "I did, is it perfect right?" ‎ ‎ ‎Audrey: "What are you guys doing, aren't you going to prepare for school?" 😂 ‎ ‎ ‎Jax: "We are on it, mom." ‎ ‎Luca: "I'm actually ready, who's driving today?" ‎ ‎ ‎"Wait, you guys drive yourselves to school?" I wrote. ‎ ‎Lucy: "Yess, get ready fast Lizzy." ‎ ‎"But how would you know my house?" I questioned. ‎ ‎Audrey: "Jax, explain!" 😂 ‎ ‎Jax: "I may or may not have seen you when you got home yesterday." ‎ ‎"Omg, did you stalk me?" I added. 😂 ‎ ‎Jax: "No, no! It just so happened that I was going your way." ‎ ‎Luca: "I'll go with Liz. You might have stalked her, you p*****t. 😂 ‎ ‎Audrey: "You better keep it in, Jax." 😂 ‎ ‎ ‎Lucy: "Okay babes, I'm gonna drive. Lizzy, your house would be the last destination, and I'm about to start driving so y'all hurry." ‎ ‎ ‎ I dropped my phone and went to the bathroom. My daily routine followed after.Today, I wore an outfit that matched today's vibe—a shirt in a brown sweater and a short, black pleated skirt a bit above my knees. Today wasn't so hot, so my outfit was perfect.I hurried to the kitchen and made a breakfast sandwich. ‎ ‎After eating, I threw three chocolate bars in my bag and headed out when I heard the horn of a car. So fast? ‎ ‎I locked the door to my apartment and walked over to the black Porsche 911 GT3 parked in front of my building. I had to admit, it was a sweet-looking car. ‎ ‎"Hey, Liz!" Luca called from inside. He opened his door, and I slid into the back seat to join them. ‎ ‎"Hi guys," I said. ‎ ‎ ‎"You look good in such simple clothes," Jax complimented, his voice playful. ‎ ‎"I know Jax is a jerk, but he's right," Audrey added. She was sitting to my left, with Luca to my right. Jax was in the front passenger seat, and Lucy was driving. ‎ ‎ ‎"What a nice car you've got, Lucy," I remarked and she smiled. ‎ ‎ ‎"She’s my baby," Lucy said proudly. "Hope you didn't forget about today's party," she added with a smile. ‎ ‎I did remember, since Lucy kept reminding me yesterday. I had cleared my night shift for today so I was free, but I didn't know what I would do or enjoy from a party."Yeah, I didn't forget. You bugged the hell out of me about it, remember?" I laughed, and everyone laughed along. ‎ ‎"For a nerd, you've got quite the mouth," Luca chuckled. We arrived at school, and Lucy parked her car while we all got out. ‎ ‎"I have Spanish class this morning"I said as we walked to our lockers. ‎ ‎"None of us except you have that this morning," Jax said. ‎ ‎"I have Art, me and Lucy," Audrey said, and I nodded. ‎ ‎"We'll see each other at lunch or next class," Luca said, and we headed off to our respective lockers. ‎ ‎ ‎ On my way to Spanish class, someone bumped into me. The next thing I knew, hot coffee spilled all over me. It was so scalding that it burned against my skin, even through my sweater and shirt. I looked up at the person who had bumped into me and scoffed when I saw who it was: Clara and her so-called boyfriend. Actually, the coffee cup was in Easton's hand, while Clara clung to his other hand. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"What the hell is wrong with you?" I said with annoyance as I glanced down at my ruined clothes. The dark coffee stained my light brown sweater and the white shirt I wore underneath."You deserved that, b***h," Clara laughed. ‎ ‎ ‎Easton, however, looked taken aback. They were no match for me, so there was really nothing I could do in this situation. I was about to leave when Easton turned to Clara and asked, "What did you do that for?" ‎ ‎I rolled my eyes and left them, bumping my shoulder hard against Easton's as I passed. It hurt me more, but I was way too angry to care. I hurried to the restroom to fix up my shirt a bit. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ I couldn't wear the wet white shirt or keep the wet sweater on; it would definitely start to itch later. But what else could I do? I didn't have any spare shirts with me. I took off my sweater, grabbed some tissues from the corner dispenser, and tried to scrub the stain off my shirt. Looking in the mirror, I grimaced—it looked terrible."Nice way to ruin my day, jerks," I grunted. ‎ ‎_______________________________________________ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Easton's POV ‎ ‎ ‎Clara clung tightly to my hand as we walked down the hallway. Her clinginess was becoming a bit much lately. I didn't find it amusing at all; it was just plain annoying. However, I had to play along. The last time I had about it, she cried and yelled at me uncontrollably. Then, when I got home, I was met by her parents and my parents sitting together in the dining room. ‎ ‎ ‎ Honestly, I never liked Clara. Even as much as I tried to, I couldn't force myself to feel anything. Our parents are business partners; Clara's parents are more persistent because they aren't even on the same financial level as my dad, so they try to push their daughter onto me. I never complained, though. Clara was beautiful, but she had a terrible attitude. Our relationship wasn't much of one. Yes, we go out on dates, but we text rarely. I couldn't ask for more from it, and I didn't want to be asked for more either. ‎ ‎ ‎"Hey babe, I heard your dad officially opened that new restaurant," Clara said as she rested her head on my arm while we walked. ‎ ‎"Yeah, what about it?" I asked, not even bothering to look at her."I want you to take me there. I also heard it has a hotel attached to it, so we might as well try it out too." She smiled, and I smirked, turning to her. ‎ ‎"Hmm." I took a sip of my hot coffee. "When do you wanna go?" I asked, playing along completely. Me and Clara, we know the only thing that keeps us in check is s*x, and I can't deny she was quite good with it. As I was saying, I've had s*x with a couple of girls before Clara, and she's the best so far. And it's been like a week since we last did it. ‎ ‎"Well, Sean's party is tonight, so we should go tomorrow," Clara added, but she was interrupted when Clara unexpectedly tripped. My coffee flew over to the person I bumped into when I tried to regain my balance. ‎Why would she trip me, though, could only trip me on purpose since she clung all this time. I checked my body to see if I was stained, and no, I wasn't. ‎ ‎ ‎"What the hell is wrong with you?" the person I bumped into spat, and I recognized that voice. I looked down to see the new girl. She looked up at me, stagnation and anger in her eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of brown and gold; I was lost in them. Clara said something and laughed, and I turned to her, only confirming that she tripped me on purpose. The new girl looked at me, and the hatred in her eyes was evidence. ‎ ‎ ‎I sighed and turned back to Clara."What did you do that for?" I asked Clara, annoyed. ‎ ‎"I tripped, duh," Clara said, trying to hide her mischievous grin. ‎ ‎"You tripped on purpose." I ran my hands through my hair, checking my shirt again. If it had been stained, she wouldn't have liked my reaction. ‎ ‎"I'm sorry," Clara pouted, reaching out to hold my hands. I stepped back, avoiding her touch, and handed the empty coffee cup to her. ‎ ‎"Go to class," I muttered, flipping her off."But walk me to class! Where are you even going?" ‎ ‎"I have Spanish class, and yours is English. Go now, I'm really not in the mood to walk you anymore." With that, I turned around and left her standing there.I headed toward my classroom, but in the back of my mind, I felt strangely unsettled. Why did I care so much . The girl might have a huge stain on her clothes but why do I care? She could easily have a spare shirt or something. ‎ ‎ ‎Then again, what if she doesn't? I rolled my eyes, forcing the thoughts away. I'm supposed to be the bad boy, so why am I going out of my way to find a shirt for this girl?I headed over to the council house. I was actually one of the council members. Since my dad basically owns the school, I ended up as the leader—not that I ever wanted to be. I hated feeling entitled, especially when it came to school matters. ‎ ‎ ‎Once inside, I went straight to my room. Each council member had their own private room in the building, in addition to a massive hall reserved for our official meetings. ‎ ‎ ‎I walked over to my closet and pulled out a white shirt—the smallest one I had—along with a sweater. It was a high-end designer brand and pretty expensive, but that wasn't my problem. I could do whatever I want and give the poor girl good clothes. She probably never wore something this expensive before. ‎ ‎I got back and walked to the ladies' restroom. She would be there, I thought. I was right, as I heard something from the door inside a closed door. ‎ ‎"Why does that jerk have to be extra annoying?" The voice was filled with distress, and I smirked. I don't know why I found its amusing. She probably doesn't know what I'm capable of. ‎ ‎I knocked once, and her voice sounded, "Occupied!" ‎ ‎I slightly chuckled and opened the door. She was in front of the mirror with a tissue in her hands. ‎ ‎"What the hell are you doing here?" she yelled. ‎ ‎"Shut up, do you like shouting a lot?" I rolled my eyes and handed the clothes to her. ‎ ‎"What is this?" she asked, raising a brow. ‎ ‎"Clothes, obviously," I stated with sarcasm, i bit back the urge to say 'clothes that you can't afford'. ‎ ‎She stared at it for quite a while before grabbing it from me."I will return it tomorrow," she muttered. ‎ ‎"You don't have to, it will even add life and sense of fashion to your wardrobe," I replied and left. ‎ ‎ ‎I know it's rude , but what do you expect? I'm an arrogant jerk who is annoying. I just felt the need to be like that today, because it's so not me to offer my clothes after spilling a drink on someone. ‎
